Ice fishing stuff and fly tying stuff
InkedLilPiggy replied to cynthiafu's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
I would be interested in the ice fishing gear -
Understandable. Thanks anyway

How much and would you be willing to ship it?
-
That's a hell of a road trip but I appreciate the offer? Any interest in shipping it?

I'm located on the border of 3s and 3. I have used a climber a few times not many.
-
I know it is probably a long shot but wondering if anyone out there has a climber they are looking to get rid of. Just found out that my hang in that I have been using for a few years was taken/stolen. No I am hesitant to leave another stand out there.

Well I do hope to hunt hard as soon as I am able to and hopefully I can fill ateast one tag. I do have a small private spot that only I have rights to hunt. Hopefully the deer will still be there when I'm ready. Senty brother in law in there today to pull camera cards and it appears that I still have plenty of deer and actually got a small six on camera that I haven't seen before. I guess worse case scenario if I don't fill the freezer with venison I will have to get a boat load of small game (rabbit, squirrel, and phesant). Upside is that wouldean much more time in the woods!

Well after a crossbow season that saw a lot of deer but only a few shot opportunities, which I now wish I had taken, my season is pretty much a wrap. Been having stomach and chest pains for about 6 months now and finally saw the doc last week. Turns out it was gall stones not too much smaller than golf balls. Had the gallbladder removed Monday and got home from the hospital on Tuesday evening. Now best case scenario i will be back in the woods for the last four days of the late season. Really wish I took the shots I had during crossbow and filled the freezer when I had the opportunity. Needless to say I am not happy!

The pics I have gotten haven't been if monster bucks but I'm happy for two reasons. Number one is that these pics all came from a camera that my 3 year old daughter placed. Number two it means meat for the freezer!

There seem to be so many more options out there with compound crossbows than recurve. I personally like recurves because there is few parts to worry about. The Grizzly is an excellent choice from what I can see, I personally have no experience with them however. When I first got into crossbow hunting I purchased a very inexpensive Barnett Recruit Recurve and it has served me well for the most part. Lower speed so shot distance and placement are very crucial. But I believe that has made me a better hunter. I am looking to upgrade after this season so if you go with the Grizzly please let me know what you think. Good luck and sorry I wasn't much help.

Shotgun Sling and Glock Holster
InkedLilPiggy replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
Is the sling still available? Dont really need another holster for a Glock but if it's a package thing maybe we can work something out. -
Turkey Hunting in Dutchess County
InkedLilPiggy replied to Maritimehunterguy's topic in Turkey Hunting
Thanks Bill! The park is big enough that I feel saying there are birds there is not an issue. Not worried that my nice spots are in jeopardy. I like to home in quite a distance anyway. -

I have had decent luck in Fahnstock State Park. You need to get a permit to hunt the park from the park office on Rt. 301. The birds are there but you need to spend as the scouting for their roosts. I have gotten nice big birds the last two opening days there. Good luck to you! -
Does anyone have any advice on hunting Canada geese in region 3. Specifically 3n. I have never hunted them and don't know what type of habitat to be looking for, obviously I am thinking there should be a decent body of water close by. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Winchester 30 Carbine
InkedLilPiggy replied to InkedLilPiggy's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I don't know what I want to do with it yet. I just got it the other day. I am not really a collector, I like to have a use for each and every one of my guns. I don't know what use this gun would actually have for me. But maybe this will be the first collector piece for me. If u decide to sell it perhaps you can steer me in a good direction. -
Winchester 30 Carbine
InkedLilPiggy replied to InkedLilPiggy's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Oh okay. The SA stock does not have a aerial number that I have been able to find. But even if the Winchester stick dies I would rather have that in there, closer to original. Do you happen to know where the serial number in the stock would be? -
Winchester 30 Carbine
InkedLilPiggy replied to InkedLilPiggy's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
The stock is a true WW2, Winchester stock from what I have been told. I don't know if there is a way to tell that the stock is not the actual stock the rifle initially left the factory with. I do know that the gun is probably in at least 90% condition as it sits now with the SA stock. -
Hey guys and gals. Not sure how many WW2 collectors are on the forum but hopefully there are a few. I recently came into possession of a very nice Winchester 30 cal carbine. From what I can figure out so far I have a rifle that was manufactured in 1944. The serial numbers from the barrel, receiver, and trigger group all match. The stock is not a Winchester stock it is a Springfield Armory stock. I have located a Winchester stock and will have that soon as well as an original bayonet. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure on the value of this gun. I don't know that I will be selling it but interested to know what I have. Thanks.
