  1. I've always used Beman 400 MFX arrows but looking at making a change to Carbon Express, either Mayhem or Pile Drivers. Looking for a bit heavier arrow w/o adding extra what forward. These arrows are like 8.9 gpi or 10.4 gpi. 27.5 to 28" arrows with 100 grain tip will weigh between 367 gr total arrow weight and 408 gr total arrow weight.
  2. Pirate walks in a bar Bartender: Wow haven't seen you in a long time... you look terrible. Pirate: Why what's the matter? Bartender: What's with the wooden leg? Pirate: Oh me peg leg... lost in from a cannonball... took it clean off...got me a wooden peg leg... it works good! Bar Tender: Whats with the hook? Pirate: Oh me hook... lost my hand in sword fight on board ship when were attacked. Killed the guy but lost my hand but got me a hook. It works good! Bar Tender: Whats with the patch over your eye? Pirate: Oh me patch... a flock of sea gulls flew over and one of em shit in my eye! Bar Tender: That wouldn't hurt your eye! Pirate: First day with me hook!
  3. I been shooting a Mathews Drenalin since 2009 set at 60#. Love the bow and actually hope I don't regret the change. I'm not getting any younger so stepped up to the pump and got a Mathews Halon 6 - 60#. The reason is at 63, 64 this season I wanted a bow with more speed. I plan to shoot the new bow at 60# this year but know that the older I get the less I will be able to draw back so the new bow at 55# will be still faster then the Drenalin.
  4. All I've ever used since I began bow hunting 17 years ago. It hasn't changed and neither have I. About $60 - $75 depending on where you look. Works perfect! https://www.truglo.com/archery-sights/pendulum.asp
  5. May I suggest someone divide the state into regions and then have one person volunteer from each region to find a camp area so all those that want to go can make arrangements with dates and site.
  6. good to hear the good talk about the bow. Yeah looking forward to getting to know this bow.
  7. Syracuse area might be more central for most of the folks here. Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville is good. Albany is 5 hours from Buffalo region. Just a thought.
  8. Just put a deposit on a Mathews Halon 6. Shot it at the shop. Very nice bow. I will have a Mathews Denalin available for sale if you know anyone who may be interested. Perfect condition.
  9. Grow - youve used these people? - http://welterseed.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Retail-Price-List-2017.pdf
  10. Here are 2 places I have purchased from. Links below: http://www.johnnyseeds.com/farm-seed/ http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/deer-food-plots/ I've had great luck with a product from outside pride called Northern Sweet Spot http://www.outsidepride.com/seed/deer-food-plots/sweet-spot-northern-mix.html
  11. Gone through 3 microwaves in the past 6 years and get this, the first one I bought back in 1983 in my first marriage that I took with me when I left is still in the office working today. That one is going on 34 years old. So yeah. it's all junk today, mass produced w foreign parts with planned obsolescence . We're screwed! ha ha
  12. We have always been impressed with the glide action of the bolt. Interesting but it was my wife that went to Gander to look at Rifles and was the one who originally came home with the idea of the Tikka. How could she have known?
  13. Great story, success and late season bow to top it off. Awesome man.
  14. Wife and I bought a Tikka T3 Lite stainless in .270 for my son for Christmas. Had a Zeiss Terra 4 - 12 X 42 bore sighted. Everything I read about these guns great - Tack hammers they say.
  15. He sounded like a great guy. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Treasure the memories.
  16. seen them in Madison county a few times
  17. It looks to me like the second rut is heating up perfect for ML season. I saw more track today all over the property today. The most I've seen since the Sunday snow and after.

I been expecting things to heat up again for about a week anytime soon.
  19. Sometimes thats all it takes is a few minutes. Congrats
  20. ya gotta wrap in camo burlap and and a folding chair and sit behind it. In all honesty, I already have my senior old man plan to hunt. Ride the 4 wheeler up too my ground site. Drape it with camo burlap and sit in front of it in a small folding chair and use it as a wind break.
  21. To kill big deer 1) You gotta hunt where big ones are known to be (generally) 2) be willing to put in the time (esp early thru mid Nov) 3) Play the wind
  22. I've never said "pointer" nor has any of my family. It's always a 6 point or an 8 point. Yet I heard many others refer to "pointer" so was wondering which is correct, not that I really care. It would make a good POLL.
