A nice put up coyote may bring you $15. They are a tough animal to skin and flesh. We have taken some nicely colored up ones that brought good money last year including $275 for a black female.
All I hunt with is a .22 mag and have no problem taking one. Of course you are not going to do a 100 yard shot, but 50 and under no problem.
I can remember my dad telling stories of when he was younger. If someone had a set of deer tracks walk through the garden everybody came just to look at them. Thats how scarce deer were.
It will be hard to control the population. We have killed 50 plus some years and the following year we couldnt tell. Trapping them is another story. I have done it succesfully, but it takes time and paitence.
Again...I do not see how AR will help the youth of our sport. You can argue and say to have a healthy deer herd when they get older, but why not look at the now. MY 14 year old sure would like to take one at any size.
My first year 14 year old son sure does not a restriction.
Maybe in the southern parts of the state where there are small woodlots ok. But where I live where it is 10-20 miles in between roads and that is the smaller of the woods you can hunt hard all year to see one buck. I certainly will not pass because he is not "OUTDOOR CHANNEL WORTHY"
Fisher can adapt. They feed on red squirrels as their main diet. I think years ago they were introduced in the dacks to help with the porky population. They feed on a number of porkies as well. But I believe they will also feed on rabbits, mice, birds and the occasional gut pile. The habitat in the southern part of the states is likely changing to accomodate the fisher.
not to cause a big stir, but house cats seem to have an impact also. there are quite a few in my area that you can see roaming all hours of the night and i have seen them with baby rabbits and birds
