  3. Wow, I have not had a problem in my area. It seems like my local dealers are getting a very nice selection of guns in. One local dealer has over 100 hand guns in stock at this time.
  4. Who needs a 3D printer. This is pretty awesome. http://www.sotsyndicate.com/weapon-discussion/35532-cutting-board-ar-15-a.html
  5. The last thing I heard on the Tresmond Lawsuit was a interview, Saying don't expect much to happen before a trial, in August I believe was the date. There can not be a injunction out in place because it a government or something along that lines being sued, so they can not issue a injunction until the trial, if the judges wants too.
  6. Wheelieman, that extra arm maybe from the huge dump you have up there. It pretty sad you can see the 2 huge mounds of garage from Ovid which is almost 20 miles away.
  7. Tucker Daddy, where did you get 1 7/8 from. Well here is my math. OK, you are using a standard 870, but here is where the problem lies. Now use a REMINGTON 870 EXPRESS Super MAGNUM - take 3 1/2 inch shells or a Magnum which accept 3 inch shells. 870 Super Magnum 5 - 3 1/2 inch shells = 17 1/2 inches 10 - 1 3/4 shells = 17 1/2 inches 870 Magnum 5 - 3 inch shells = 15 inches 8 - 1 3/4 inch shells = 14 inches ( not sure is there would be a extra 3/4 of a inch to fit in another shell) standard 870 ( i have not measured, but pretty sure there would be that extra 1/4 of a inch to put the 8th shell in) 5 - 2 3/4 inch shells = 13.75 inches 8 - 8 1 3/4 inch shells = 14 inches
  8. I have a friend that drives school bus and has 2 hours to kill every morning and hangs out at the mall, so he calls me if they get ammo in.
  9. Well the 500 ct box equal .046 cents per bullet which is just under .05 cents.
  10. http://carter.house.gov/press-releases/secure-firearms-act-to-reduce-gun-violence-introduced-by-carter-cuellar/ Secure Firearms Act to Reduce Gun Violence introduced by Carter, Cuellar (WASHINGTON, DC) – Keeping more firearms away from unauthorized users would prevent many cases of gun violence with no threat to the 2nd Amendment Rights of law-abiding citizens, and that could be rapidly achieved through bi-partisan legislation introduced today in the House by Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman John Carter (R-TX31) and fellow Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee Member Henry Cuellar (D-TX28). “The most common factor in the mass shootings over the past years is that people who should not have had access to firearms managed to acquire them anyway,” said Carter, a former Texas district judge. “We don’t attempt to address all the reasons for that in this bill, but specifically target better security of firearms by law-abiding citizens through incentives, not mandates.” “While nationally there has been much discussion over how to prevent mass shootings, there is no debate over the need to promote responsible firearm ownership,” said Cuellar. “As a concealed handgun license holder and strong supporter of 2nd amendment rights, this is a common sense first step towards increasing access for Americans to purchase devices that will prevent the misuse of firearms. While this legislation is not meant to be a ‘fix-all’, this is a bipartisan idea that Congress should immediately act on. I’m proud to join my fellow Texan and friend, Chairman Carter on this important legislation.” Mass shootings at Columbine High School, Virginia Tech, Tucson, Aurora, and Newtown all involved people who should not have had access to firearms. The most recent Newtown tragedy revealed the shooter’s mother passed the federal background check, legally acquired weapons, and bought a safe, but apparently left the safe unlocked and the weapons exposed to her mentally unstable son. “As responsible gun owners, let’s make sure our weapons are more secure in the future,” says Carter. “We can use this legislation to kick off a nationwide push to put gun safes or security devices in every home with unattended firearms by the close of 2014, and then let’s push for everyone to use them,” Carter says. “That’s a specific goal that will reduce gun violence by a date certain, and a goal that Congress, the President, and the firearms community can unite behind.” The Secure Firearms Act includes: Up to a $1,200 tax deduction to purchase a gun safe and/or security devices through December 31, 2014. A prohibition on the IRS use of tax deduction claims to produce any form of gun owner registration. The White House officially called for improving safe gun storage on January 16, as part of President Obama’s initiative to reduce gun violence, writing “The President believes that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms . … .But this right comes with a responsibility to safely store guns to prevent them from accidentally or intentionally being used to harm others. To that end, the President will launch a national responsible gun ownership campaign.” In addition to the President’s call for safe gun storage, the Secure Firearms Act is endorsed by the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of American, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. “The NRA is the national leader in teaching firearms safety, and we support the Secure Firearms Act of 2013 which encourages the safe storage of firearms in the home,” said James Baker, director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action Federal Affair Division. “Rep. John Carter is a leader on this issue, and we look forward to working with Members of Congress to pass this sensible legislation and provide a much-deserved tax credit to responsible firearm owners.” “This proposal encourages improved firearms storage security with no threat to the right to keep and bear arms,” said Gun Owners of America President Larry Pratt. “The bill provides a solid benefit to law-abiding gun owners nationwide, and will increase public safety in the process. We need more well-conceived bipartisan legislation like this in Congress.” “Members of America’s firearms industry thank Rep. Carter for his leadership in offering a real, bi-partisan solution that will help to make our families safer by helping gun owners to responsibly and safely store their firearms when not in use so that they are inaccessible to unauthorized and at-risk individuals,” said Lawrence G. Keane, National Shooting Sports Foundation senior vice president and general counsel. “The issue of firearms is emotionally-charged, over which it is sometimes difficult to find common ground for many Americans,” says Carter. “But this is one bill that will reduce illegal firearms use, is constitutionally-sound, paid for with appropriate corresponding budget cuts, and should be supported by all sides on this debate. I encourage the President to immediately endorse this legislation, and for our House and Senate leaders to rapidly move this bill to his desk. If we succeed, we will show the American people we can work together on tough issues to do what is right for the country.”
  11. Well Dick's had another shipment of 22 ammo today. This time they had 500 rd boxes of Remington Thunder bolts for $22.99 and then they also had 100 ct boxes for 9.99.
  12. Well the way the law is written everyone comes up with a different interpretation. I bet if you ask 10 random police mean on some part of the NY Safe Act you will get 10 difference answers.Well
  13. The reason why all pump shot guns are illegal under the NY Safe Act, by the letter of the stupid law, is because of 1 3/4 shells. These where invented for dome defense. So that means all pump shotguns, can hold 10 rounds of these bullets. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/162922/aguila-minishell-ammunition-12-gauge-1-3-4-4-and-1-buckshot-11-pellets-box-of-20
  14. In the James Tresmand interview he said the ammo back ground check has been unfunded in the NY budget.
  15. They still had the little boxes of 22 LR today. My mistake though is there is only 40 round in the little boxes, for $3.00.
  16. I get them too. What hackers do is just send a spam message out that looks legit. With a link, saying you need to change you password. So just think if they send out 100,000 spam emails and just 1 percent click on the link, that is 1000 people's account information they will get. Then the hackers, have a new account to send there spam from or to do other things.
  17. Holy Crap, I think the last one I had done it was $450.
  18. I wonder if you called your local senator if they could supply you with a hard copy of the NY SAFE Act.
  19. Dicks, in Ithaca had a huge amount of 22 Ammo today. They had 100's of small 50 count boxes, 525 ct box's, and 325 tin's. Needless to say I got 850 rounds today, now my daughter can't shoot away with the 10/22 this weekend.
  20. Where did you see them in Watkins Glen? I know a few years ago, there was a farmer that owned something like 400 acres of land, and had a problem with the Town/County over a road that went through his property and he refused to pay his taxes and they forclosed on it, and he used to race deer and just cut then fence's down and let the deer go. So there has been fallow deer and a couple of other kinda of deer just roaming the area. If you goto the Upper part of Watkins Glen state park there is a huge fence up there that a guy has elk. You can see them once in awhile.
  21. Here are some links to the Tresmonds discussing where they are in the NY Safe Act Lawsuits. Well after listening to this, is going to be along time if anything in the Safe Act gets changed or over turned. They can not get a injunction until it goes to trial. They also stated some new info on how county clerks are interpreting the 7 rounds in a magazine. What the Tresmonds stated in this interview, they said you can only have 7 rounds total in the gun, this is what they have been told by the county clerks. http://www.wben.com/pages/10912517.php?contentType=34&contentId=129581
  22. I just looked at the picture, that deer is no where's near a 157" deer. If you spread the ears out, instead of having them tucked back. That would give you a general idea of how big the spread is. I think with the ears back it makes the spread look wider then it is. I don't think the spread would be much past the ears. So I would guess may 16-18: spread max.
  23. I think I have spent more money on ammo, then food the last couple of months. With NY requiring background checks starting next Jan is one of the reasons. As dealers can charge up to $10 for a background check on ammo. Last week I got 22 magnums at Walmart
  24. I noticed the other night out roosting that the black fly's are terrible this year.
