A few of use where doing a drive, and I got to the area where a watcher was supposed to be and no one around. I got on a radio and asked where they where. Next thing I know I have a 6 point buck at about 20 feet from me. So I shot him and he drops right there. My buddy walks up and says nice 3 point, I say no it was a 6 point. He like there is only one antler, the other antler is lying on the ground.Next he asked where did you shoot him, I said neck, he like there is no whole. So I shot the deer while he was on lying on the ground. All we can figure is I shot his antler off and it knocked him out. I got lucky and got my deer.

Yep Arrow that is him. Not behind his house but not too far as the crow flies. They gave me a quick tape of 160.

Just got this picture from my buddy, he had this monster on his trail camera a few times, but never seen him during bow season.Its a 9 point. This was taken in Southern Seneca County !

I have taken deer with both the Grim Reaper's and the Shawackers. I had deer drop on the spot with a Grim Reaper, and also had them run 100 yards. I shot a buck this year with a Shawacker and after about 10 feet it was a blood bath, but he still went about 100 yards. The Shawacker put a 2 inch hole right through his rib cage.

If you have a Walmart near by get them mounted there.I believe the last time I had them mount tires it was only $10 per tire and they keep the old tires.

It appears to be the same deer, but did notice the date was from 2012 on the preserve picture. Maybe just a messup.

Had a brain fart. I had 250 x 250 ft for a acre when it should have been 208 x 208 ft. That is what happens when you have been getting up at 5am for deer season for weeks

To put the 500 by 500 ft is about 2 1/2 acres of land is about how much land needs to be between you and a building, and that is just in one directions. with you being at the very edge at the farthest point. Someday the DEC might have to change the 500 ft rule.

Just make a wanted poster up with his picture on it and hang it up on the trail and see if he see's it.

Here are a couple of the pictures. Only thing that looks out of place in these two pictures is that it is views is one from each way she is looking, and one he head is turned more, but the angle of the arrow in both pictures appears to be identical.

My buddy is hunting 8S and seen lots of 6 different buck this morning.They where following each others trails

I like hunting natural funnels. Got permission to hunt a new 25 acres with in a mile of my house, which is nice if I get up late and can't get the 15 miles to my property.So I scouted it out, put a tree stand up. Hunted a couple mornings and nothing. So weekend came hunted at night, first night was 20 mph winds, 2 does came out. Next night a nice little 4 point came in at 6 yards and I shwacked him. He did not have a huge rack, but was a 150 pound deer dressed. I switched to hunting natural funnels about 95 percent of the time, and my buck sightings have skyrocketed. If you have a natural funnel hunt it, sometimes it may one be a night time stand or a day time stand.

I really seems like theft of anything is high right now. I had a very nice ladder stand stolen this year on private property, This is the first tree stand I have had stolen from my property. Maybe the pot grower got pissed because I found his plants he was growing and turned them in to the police.

I am using Shwackers. The leave a huge hole, and a blood train looked like I paint the ground. I shot a buck this year and they blew a 2 inch whole threw the rib cage, bone was gone. Only think I don't like is the little piece of paper that hold the blades in place.

OK, what is the difference between a hunting arrow and this arrow? Maybe deer have a cupid for the rut and the arrow was pink and fuzzy with a heart on the end of it. Sorry seems like someone is a few beers short of a six pack. If someone shot straight up in the air and it came down in a deer that is totally unbelievable.

Thanks First Light they told my daughter at both the bow coarse and hunting course they could not hunt from a tree strand. You are correct I just looked it up. Its only for firearms that they can not hunt from a tree stand.

What is illegal hunting over a spilled pile of corn made by the farmer.

My daughter just took the bow course and they said that your bow had to be atleast 40lbs to be legal in NY. Also a youth hunter ages 12-15 may not hunt from a tree stand.

I think you may find a few draw back to this idea., The 55 gal drum being metal or plastic are going to get very cold on the ground. Also think that it will be heavy and bulky to move, and you make get some echoing from the gun shoots too.
