Those pictures are awesome. What trailcam are you using? -
Self defense or an overzealous prosecutor?
HectorBuckBuster replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
It sounds stupid, but something in NYS law says if suspects are retreating then you can not pursue or something along that lines. I agree there was a flash and nopiced the ladies sons kepts pursuing. -
CT gun confiscation
HectorBuckBuster replied to boo711's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
NYIndy, speaking of you won't let no one in your house. The Supreme Court just ruled if one person says not to a search and another person says yes, the LEO can enter your house. So everyone needs to be clear and inform all people in the house to always say no. -
CT gun confiscation
HectorBuckBuster replied to boo711's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I am a big believer if you register that later down the road that is going to come back and bite you in the ass. Ok, on another forum there was a memeber that registered with NYS, when he registered you where asking that NYS for permission to keep these evil weapons as they call them. The key to this say IF YOU ARE APPROVED. So what happens if you are not approved. They have a legal document you submiteed stating what weapons you own. Also once you register them with NYS can not pass the gun down to a familt memeber when you die, it must be surrendered. Also what people don't understant with the NY SAFE ACT is if you have a pistol permit and it is revoked, you must surrender all your guns, even rifles and shotguns. -
A few years ago I went to a bow shop to buy a Parker, I shot one and it is was ok. Someone I knew there kept telling me to try a BowTech, well after shooting the Bowtech then went back to the Parker, it was a easy choice. Bowtech anyday, but I did spend over double just on the bow, versus a Parker that was complete. If possible see if you can shoot it and try a few other bows.

I would go with a Polaris with a Automatic

About a week ago I seen about 12 Robins in my yard.

rjmjr911, here is the NY Safe Act website. You can determine by this if you have to register. I can tell you I have stepped up and will be a plaintiff in a lawsuit against NY Safe Act. There are a few of us willing to step up and put our guns & Magazine's on the line for everyone in NY. http://www.governor.ny.gov/nysafeact/registration-questionnaire

RjMJR911, not sure on that gun, but googled a picture. It appear that is does have a grip prutruding below the trigger as that is what NY Safe act defines as a pistol grip. Also as right now, the court ruled that there is no such think as a muzzle brake (since it is a muzzle break), and the Safe Act lists it as a Muzzle Brake. I just read on fn fs2000 website that they call it a thumbhole stock so being a semi-auto with a thumb stock you own a evil assault weapon.
-
Doc, you are correct, I can own every part and not be a scarey assault weapon, until I add one of those evil featues, unless I had the MR2,(all this does in instead of dropping a magazine to reload, you pull the rear take down pin flip the upper forward and then load the magazine that is attached to the gun.)Then I can add every evil feature I want. The NY Safe act was not about banning a gun, but banning features. You can order every piece for a AR15 to build a complete gun accept the stripped lower (this has the serial numbers on it, and has to go through a FFL dealer), unless you buy a 80 percent lower which does not have to go through a dealer (because it is not complete). With 80 percent stripped lowers you just need to drill out a few holes and you are good to go. Also on the 80 percent lowers you can buy a jig that even shows you where to drill all the holes.I can go online and have stripped lowers shipped to my FFL dealer right now. What people don't understand a AR 15 type gun it fun to build and customize just like a car. You can build a .22lr, .223/556 a .308 (need a different lower) so you have tons' of options. Doc, here is a link and you could order these lowers and have them shipped right to your door. Not sure I would mess around with them as I can get completed stripped lower for $60 each and not have to mess around. https://www.ar-parts.net/ar/ar-15-lower-receiver/80-lower-receiver/?orderby=date&gclid=CNOLvriR2LwCFW9p7AodJgIAlg

You have a few options. First thing is NYS does not give a definition of what a detachable magazine is. If you add a MR2 Ar15 Mag Lock, you should have no problems (there is supposed to be a letter coming out that this is NYS Compliant but no one in the NYS Police wants to stepup and say yes or no. Or second just take the gun apart for the time being and just store it. http://www.amazon.com/AR-MR2-Release-Legal-AR15/dp/B00CY2I0BS

Here is another petition. Not sure how effective these are, but only takes a few seconds.Maybe someday they will work Steve McLaughlin's Petition For No College For Cons I'm launching KidsBeforeCons, an online petition drive that I hope spreads statewide so that we can send a message to this Governor that we want our schools funded correctly and we don't want tax payer dollars spent giving prisoners college degrees while we have struggling New Yorker's trying to put their kids through school or pay off their own student debt. Please sign the petition and spread this to your friends and families. There are two forms but both are the same. We'll be adding graphics tomorrow as well but we wanted to launch it tonight! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Je3...NkjP8/viewform

Growalot from my research on deeed retrictions you most also maintian a interest that the deed retrictions if violated would hurt He is lucky he still owns land there so this has caused harm by decreasing the value of his property. If say he did not own any property that would be effected then he would not be able sue, is what I have been getting after reading up on the sublect.Sounds stupid but nothing in the court system suprizes me anymore after the judge ruled the Safe Act Legal.
-
Well deed restrictions are not always 100 percent. My dad sold some land and had deed restrictions this was over 20 years ago put on that only a stick built house can be built and 250 feet from the road. Well over the last few years the property was sold again, and that person also bought the property next to it. Well the combined the two properties to one, then built some seasonal cabins on the property. The town and county do not enforce deed retrictions, so now the only way to enforce them is my dad has to sue the new property own.

I had 4 DMP for they same area in NY, so if 4 deer did come in I would have been legal to shoot them all.

A little perplexed (deer processing timing)
HectorBuckBuster replied to BUCKANDAQUARTER's topic in Deer Hunting
I am guessing with gun season he gets more deer then during bow seasons. Also with it being close to the holidays, he may have family stuff to do. -
I just love reading some of these comments like " Sits in Tree's " calling them dumb hicks. You really don't know what you are talking about. Phil was a huge college football QB at Louisiana Tech University, and he started ahead of Terry Bradshaw and turned a NFL contract down with the Washington Redskins in his Junior Year as he enjoyed duck hunting more and football interfered with duck seasons. Phil also has a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a Master's in Education. If this is a Hick sign me up. That Hick as you called him earned every dollar he every made. If you can make a living by doing what you love, that is the best life you could have.

Maybe stop down at the pull off at the bottom of the hill of Rt 79 and chat with the duck/goose hunters that have blinds in the south end of the lake by Clute Park.
-
I filled my buck tag with a bow and filled 3 of the 4 DMP I received. I shot a big doe second day of season, shot another one yesterday and got one today about 3:00 hunting the standing corn field. So not a bad year here, yes it seemed like deer where harder to find, I just had to do a little walking.

And people say registration won't lead to confiscation, this just shows it will. -
How windy does it have to be to keep you from hunting?
HectorBuckBuster replied to LiveFree1776's topic in Bow Hunting
If it is that windy I have a 40 acre corn field calling my name ! -
