  1. That sounds really good ! Ive gotten quite a few people to try and then really like venison by doing this : cut steaks into bite size pieces dry rub dab of jalapeño cream cheese 1/3 piece of bacon sometimes I'll add a small slice of water chestnut throw on smoker for a few hours all though in a pinch the broiler for a few minutes works too Neighbors , sister, mailman and because it's a New Years eve tradition at a pretty large party over the years I've had a good amount of people apprehensive about trying it eat many pieces. Lots of kids especially. Going to try your recipe soon. Thanks for sharing
  2. I'm checking in on Papist from a 6' ladder painting around more windows at home
  3. Usually a line by now but I'm only person here
  4. Have a great day in the woods. Hope you break the curse of not shooting one on your birthday !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. We live in the village We handed out full sized bars again this year. I can remember as a kid getting one every year so I try and share that memory. Guessing you probably hit the same place my daughter got the rock off of Aurora Ave lol Seems like a nice morning to be in a tree today Good luck everyone and hope you find your buck Papist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Bump as they're available in the morning
  7. Well dang. Haven't seen you post much on here but nice beer and pic added to the thread !!
  8. Blinds look just fine . It's only a matter of time now. Heck , daughter and I were pulling great day pics and lots of bucks leading up til youth season. Figured selective shooting for her with a few nice 8's and a 10. We saw zero deer and I was amazed at that. There's no doubt in my mind you built blinds set on sign and good locations. In do time you and your grand son will connect. Not much of a betting person but I'd throw money down on that.
  9. How many folks are raiding their kids candy for hunting ? Daughter got a Charlie Brown " I gotta rock " lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. IMO if there's 1-2 pages of mildly useful information than it's fully worth reading I've wasted a lot more time on worse threads on here. Thanks for those who contributed
  11. Just a thought but does anyone live near papist and have his number to text to see if he needs an extra set of eyes?
  12. Biz, that last mulie looks nice to me.
  13. I wish my buddy who hunts with a primitive bow he made, his arrows he made, string he made, and arrow heads he made was a member of this forum. He'd love to share some information. Pics of nice deer. He practices all year, scouts and prepares and a lot. His brothers hunt the same property with compounds and xbows. He just prefers traditional and he's darn good at it too.
  14. Thanks LJC It's a slow day and work and I've already read the paper
  15. Great stuff right there !! Many congrats
  16. In typical Bills fashion, it fell just short of the end zone It also was the only D on the field for the Bills today
  17. I've always been an advocate of rubber boots as I have to cross a small trout stream to get to my woods. Used to have Cabela's 800 milligram and toes stayed warm despite really cold temps with a thick pair of Smartwool socks on. Keep in mind 2000 grams and a good walk and your feet are going to sweat and then your done . With a good pair of insulated boots you really shouldn't need 2 pairs of socks. As mentioned, make sure they aren't too tight either. I like the more scent free of a rubber boot as well. Currently wearing Muck boots, not their heaviest of insulated but toes still keep warm
  18. Wish your first post was a little more positive and you stuck that buck. And welcome aboard
  19. Tough to tell but very well could be a coyote. You probably have more coyotes around than you possibly might think. And I hope a weasel or coon don't get in your chicken coop. Buddy has had some issues
