Right Shawn, people like me IS the problem. Well said.
-
I just asked for WNY to refer to where in the SAFE ACT he saw the part that I missed. It's not that uncommon in an intelligent debate to ask where someone got their information. As I said, if I missed it, so be it. I never said it's not there, just that I didn't see it. Since you spent so much time analyzing the law, you must surely be able to find it.
-
I have, and I don't see anything that bans inheritance of legally possessed guns. Maybe I missed it- that's why I'm asking where you saw it. Or, did you maybe get it from the same source that gave you that bit about the upstate shooter having just gotten out of a mental institution. I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else.
-
and it saddens me to know that some of you expect anyone who owns a gun(s) to think the same way you do.
-
I'm perfectly comfortable with my ability to protect myself as well as my ability to be self reliant. I've never felt the need to carry a weapon in the course of my daily life. I'm sorry to hear that you feel so inadequate without one. Is there really so much evidence out there that proves that carrying makes you safer, as opposed to just making you feel safer?
-
OK, it obviously makes you feel better to label anyone as self-loathing if they don't share your gun love. Whatever.
-
what 'ability' are you referring to?
-
still waiting for you to explain how my laughing at you equates to 'self-loathing'.
-
?'typical liberal self loathing response'??? This should be funny- what are you talking about? Or, should i ask, What do you think you're talking about? How does my mocking your over-inflated sense of machismo due to your fascination with guns equate to self loathing or liberalism? Culver, how do you KNOW that? Can you honestly say that he wouldn't have continued firing if he had a 10 round magazine. You guys are so quick to state things as fact just because you would like to believe them to be.

OK cowboy.

I agree that it would be naive to expect the SAFE Act to have an immediate impact. But, I also think it's naive or just plain disingenuous to claim that a person who is intent on causing mass casualties is no more dangerous with an AR in his hands than with a shotgun. The reports say that, in additon to the 4 who were killed, there were another 2 wounded. Maybe those two would have been killed if this guy didn't have to reload? If you found yourself in the path of this guy, you'd hope he was carrying a 12 gauge and not an AR.
-
wonder how many he would have been able to kill if he had one of the weapons that they're trying to restrict.

My apologies that I don't share the blind faith in the Govt that you do. Have you read the entire Safe Act? I never made any statement in defense of either. Just pointed out that your statements implying that a diagnosis of ADHD or eating disorders will lead to a loss of rights was ridiculous, as was your statement dismissing the qualifications of psychiatrists.

Ever stop to think who the U.S. Special Operations Command is and what they could be directed to do with these rifles by the Commander in Chief? You may find one of these new Remington rifles being used against US citizens on US soil in the not to distant future. I wonder if Remington is OK with that situation? Right. Lots of examples of that happening. Not just another paranoid rant.

Oh, here we go. Another conspiracy theory brewing. Let me guess, we can't trust the liberal-leaning medical community?? Why, because they have higher education??? Doctors are trained to give their professional opinion, not their personal opinion. They arrive at diagnoses based on specific findings from their clinical evaluations. Certain diagnoses may involve classifying someone as 'a danger to themselves and others', while other diagnoses would not. Your examples of ADHD and eating disorders are ridiculous.
