  1. Three people on your facebook is not the same as public grandstanding.
  2. WNY, I agree that much of the grandstanding by the gun control advocates in the aftermath of Newtown has been in poor taste. But, I don't think that's a good comparison to what I took exception with on this thread. A few weeks ago, there was a public defender, who was licensed and armed when he was shot and killed by some thug in Texas. I don't recall any advocates for gun control ranting and raving or making wisecracks about how being a gun owner or even carrying a weapon doesn't guarantee your safety. That, to me, would have been a fair comparison.
  3. Congratulations on finding a word that you can spell.
  4. Nice job pal. You should be proud of yourself.
  5. Nobody's trying to tell you what you can say. Although, you could use some help with spelling and grammar.
  6. Sorry to be a killjoy, but I think it's pretty lame that some of you guys couldn't even wait 24 hours after this terrorist attack on our country to start making silly political wisecracks and ridiculous references to gun control.
  7. I'll be the first to agree that Biden frequently come off as a little goofy. But, what's so outrageous about this particular statement. Is he wrong about an AR15 round being more likely to pass through a wall and cause unintended injury than a shotgun? Maybe I misunderstood.
  8. I've gotten some great deals at Cabela's on the 'bargain cave' section of the website. If you look for gear and hunting clothes during the offseasons, you can find some great prices on top notch stuff.
  9. For you Sabres fans- Pominville just got traded.
  10. That's a huge amount. How do you store them? and, by the way, it's taking all the restraint I can muster not to make a wisecrack about your sausage party.
  11. Those shows help to perpetuate negative stereotypes- just my opinion.
  12. Compound fractures are far more serious than any soft tissue injury like ligament, meniscus, or tendon. With the bone protruding through the skin, the patient is at high risk for infection as well as nerve and blood vessel damage compared to a typical broken bone or soft tissue injury. Assuming there was no pathological cause for the fracture, he's still facing a very difficult recovery.
  13. Mine is the misuse of 'and I'. It seems that the latest trend is to always use 'and I' instead of 'and me' regardless of correctness. Ex: 'my inlaws asked my wife and I to roast a lamb on a spit.' Makes me mental.
  14. Culver, you're referring to the legs, yes? I'm new to turkey hunting and got my first bird last spring. I breasted it out. It was quick and easy. But, I felt guilty about leaving not making use of the rest of the bird. I'll keep the legs next time and maybe smoke them and use them in a soup. Does anyone roast the whole bird?
  15. It'd be interesting to hear them explain how they'd get their plane full of paratroopers into local airspace.
  16. I think I stated that I can see why you'd be unhappy with the part of the law that prevents you from passing your property down to your family after you die. But, I don't think that's exactly the same as 'confiscation'. Anyway, you two wingnuts can continue your paranoia party for all I care.
  17. covert- good for you. I don't have any problem with concealed carry. not sure why you seem to think i do.
  18. Shawnhu, if you actually read my earlier posts, you'll see that I never said that it wasn't there- only that I didn't see and was asking where to find it.
  19. Good for him. Hope it turns out to be a clean and legal shooting.
  20. Thanks Culver. Yeah, I can see why you'd have an issue with that. At the very least, I would think that your family should be paid fair market value for them if they are required to turn them in.
  21. Culver, that document looks like a summary that didn't come directly from the governor's office. Do you know for sure if the actual law wasn't just paraphrased or misinterpreted? I don't see it in the actual bill itself. But, like I said, it would be easy to miss.
