  1. while it sucks to lose a brute like like that, take some solice that you seen him still on the hoof and not piled up somewhere as coyote feed.
  2. yes that was bad, prayers go out to those involved
  3. next time you find a stand you have to go out atnight before opening day and destroy them, think of the look when they are all excited to get into it and find it in a pile,
  4. i always leave it in during the season, unless very wet/rainy,also leave the gun in truck at nite for condensation issues, have seen where moving from cold hunt to warm truck to garage etc.. can cause problems.do start fresh for late season
  5. great thread,I've noticed that my omega, shoots far better with same loads as my bone collector,2- 50gr white hots and 250 gr shockwave, after 3 shots with bc forget it , with the omega usually can get 5 or so w/o much movement on the paper

  8. must be a gray area,I found a road kill yrs ago, still in velvet, took horns to taxi to mt on a plate and he wouldnt do it ,had to have carcas tag, looked in regs and cant find anything on it
  9. legally you cant cut horns off dead deer, you need a tag to possess any part of a deer, road kill found in the woods etc...i doubt eco will give you a tag to take the horns
  10. very unfortunate,do think you should follow up with ECO,regardless of how much of an a--hole the guy is ,I find it hard to think anyone would shoot toward someone on purpose,at least I hope not,Just glad you are ok,and dont let it spoil your season

  20. it may work, dont get discouraged if it doesnt, they still have to cross the trail to pick up the scent, but you just might spark his curiosity
  21. that would make an awesome european mount! congrats on the recovery, cool story as well
  22. was this a tree stand shot with an angle downward or from the ground flat, flat shot 4 inches down could easily pass thru w/o hitting anything but muscle.tree stand can do the same but could also grab some vitals with more of an angle on exit
