    I am truly sorry for you and your families loss. As you said this day comes for us all and it sure as hell sounds like his last day was pretty much a perfect one hunting with his "boys" and a successful hunt to boot! I am sure most of us would be pretty darn content with that. Thoughts and prayers out to you all. Steve

    You guys will laugh, but I got up and actually got my gear on. Walked outa the garage to the lawn to see how crunchy the snow was and when I came around the back of the garage a nice 20+ mph gust hit me in the face. I went back in, took my gear off and went up to the office to work with a hot cup of coffee and the gas stove on. I ain't that hungry!!

    I gotta say Best thing I've had was Sika deer steaks on the grill oh man!!! An aquantance shot one up north during a drive on his farm. It was an escapee from a deer farm. Lordy that was good shite! #1 NYS whitetail backstrap on the grill #2 (I prefer the ones that have been eating the rice and barley that spills outa the train cars going into the Budweiser Brewery!) My moms rabbit pie #3 Frog legs #3 wild turkey breast filleted, breaded and fried #3 fried alligator prepared myself from a gator my friend took #4 moose steak #4 Ruff grouse #5 Fried squirrel #5 wild hog I need to get more of, a shoulder i smoked was a bit dry elk I had was so so, I brought home some steaks and roasts from elk some friend shot in Idaho. They were both big ole bulls though I want to try pheasant one of these days. It's just that season runs right with bow, no good!

    I'm up [emoji268] as well! A real cold 30 out. The walk in was loud as hell with 6 inches of compacted snow with a frozen crunchy top. Not many tracks since the snow Sunday night. I hit maybe 5 sets on way to stand. One set was real fresh and good sized. It went by a cam but may have been too far out. I'll pull on way out. Ain't nothing sneaking by today!     I almost called off and hit the wood with my BIL. He texted me from Tully and said "this sucks, snow up past my knees and not cut a track all morning..." I comforted him by telling him what good excercise he was getting!!

    Man I really dislike coyotes!! I have a few more that need to be thinned out behind the house. Shot one in bow and saw two more the other night. Got them on cam in the back yard nightly.

    Sunday 12/11 Tracks all over in the morning. I kicked up two on way in to deep hole stand. I got in and with the new snow the ziew was poor. I backed out a couple hundred yards to the outer hole stand and set up. About 30 minutes later I hear two shots down below me where the deer I jumped headed. There is a guy who has a stand up in the back corner. I guess I did him a solid...I saw him dragging out a doe a bit later. I strolled out that way and he shot the deer 3 feet from the brush blind my son and I built in bow. Well looky there he left me a pefectly good heart in that gut pile still nice and sterile in the sac. Well thank you foolish man...... Had my son out in the evening in the tower but no dice tonight. Onto muzzleloader and cold and snow on the ground for the rest of the season....

    I have a love hate relationship!! Lol Love hunting in snow, not a fan of freezing my ass off. This cold spell has seemed to get the deer more active though as shown by the amount of harvests on here this week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    21 feels like 13 Tracks all over. Jumped two on way into the deep hole stand never saw just heard them. Get to that stand and it's a limited view but with snow on trees can't see anything so back out to outer hole stand hoping I didn't push em all outa dodge! Gonna sit for a couple and go get up the kiddo and sit midday then evening. With the cold temps deer will get up during daylight! Good luck everyone! Stay warm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
