  1. Last watch Saturday 12/10 flipping cold! Out in the tower blind out back for 2 hours. Just after 4 I peaked out the back window and saw one about 50 yards out crossing. I got the ML on it but it was a little one. Then another came out and just offered too good of a shot. The Triumph dropped her in her tracks. I was bummed that my son was not with me tonight due to a soccer game to get a shot but he is happy to have another heart to fry up! She is a 1.5 year old so not huge but will sure make the freezer look better with tasty cuts! Maybe we can get a shot at another tomorrow for the boy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hunted next 4 days since Monday for at least a 2 hour watch each day out back and no deer sighted. Saturday morn hit the outer hole stand in am saw nothing but 1 hunter. Got down and followed some tracks around for a good hour. Then drove home and took a walk out back. Got busted by one at noon that was just out browsing. The snow was not too quiet so she musta heard me. I caught the fresh tracks walking then running so I knew were she headed. I put her up but was not a good shot near the houses. She was good sized. 3. I've killed a whole lotta deer and I've never seen this. This does heart had just huge chambers and thin on the muscle. She coulda been a marathon runner! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Out in the tower blind out back for evening watch. Snow was coming down pretty good. I was alone tonight my son had a soccer game. At about 4:00 I peek out the back window and catch movement and see one cutting across about 50 yards out. I grab the TC Triumph and get the scope on it and it looks pretty small. I then see another coming and that one is a bit bigger but not real big. I torn because I have passed deer all season outa this stand hoping my 14 yr old will get a crack. But she stopped and posed perfect and I had visions of my pretty empty freezer and [emoji95]. She went 2 yards straight down. She will be a good eating little doe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Nothin in stand this morn. Got down and followed tracks for a bit. Got home and took a walk out back. Jumped one that was browsing at noon right past my brothers stand. It heard me before I got over knoll and I saw where it started running. I knew it was going into the bowl. I popper her up outa there but did not feet comfortable with the shot due to proximate to my neighbors. Too bad she was the first shooter doe I've seen since the first week of doe!!!!!! 10. I'm in a [emoji268] waiting for a 4 legged [emoji403] of meat [emoji491] to come along and get ☠️ It's cold 27 windchill 16! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Cool thread! The Western on the right was given to me by my late grandfather when I was a teen. Best man I have ever met. A true Adirondack guy who taught me to hunt. The knife was one of his and used and I continued to carry and use it for many years. I would guess I have gutted close to 50 deer with it. I had a scare almost losing it so it is retired now. When I retired it I liked it so well I bought two of the Westerns (one shown) used at auction for my son and I since they are not made anymore. I prefer I nice thin short straight blade for whitetail and these hold an edge very well and have never let me down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Way to go! And your version cracked me up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ok I'm pretty sure I need to find a realtor near Rock! He's covered up in deer and he brews home brew. And if he lives anywhere near TF I'm sure I'd gain all the weight I've lost back following him around eating at those places he posts all the time[emoji869] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have really noticed that bow season has had a huge effect in the past few years. On the state lands I hunt the presure is so heavy from bow hunting most deer are nocturnal before gun even starts. The rut is the only thing that gets them going for a bit then the gun opener shock shuts that down quick. I see more vehicles out during bow than gun now except that first weekend and Thanksgiving. I need to adapt better even if I am an old dog!
  15. I live right near there and have hunted one end to the other over the years. My inlaws live on Sixty road. Not the deer there used to be and we lost over private piece on the town end that was a solid producer.
  16. As I sit here contemplating how nice it is to walk out the door and hunt I sure wish i had the deer densities some of you enjoy!! I really need to get a couple new properties under my belt. The thought of driving an hour or more to hunt sounds awful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I work from home and have the ability to get pretty flexible with my schedule. I can be out my back door and in s stand in 15. Not the best hunting back there this year but it is what it is. I pretty much get out at least one sit most days. I try to compensate lower deer density with more hours in stand! I'm just stubborn lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Out and up [emoji268] Snow started for a min and now clear till afternoon. That kinda messed up my hope some heavy snow would get em moving this morn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
