    I get excited still on every deer. I hope I never lose that. I am not one for hooting and hollering and some of those dudes on TV make me ill. Don't get me wrong I am proud and have a sense of accomplishment for sure. I will kneel or sit next to the deer and admire it. I give my thanks to the deer and there is a bit of sadness as well.     I hear crash smash out to my right and get excited thinking running deer. Nope some big ass bird was trying to get a squirrel. Branches breaking and falling to ground, squirrel just going off and the bird chugging through the trees.     11/5 am 44 Out in the tower with my son who was using the crossbow. We had one out in front of us just a bit before 8am. He was up the hill and he busted us moving. We were switching seats to get my son into position and I did not think he could see us. I was not correct on that. Did check the new cam and a nice buck went by at 3am also a couple more yotes.

    11/4 am 42 Out back in the far stand for 3.5 hours. Pretty slow. At 9am I did have a 1.5 yo 4 pointer come right in to me. He peed in scrape but really did not work it. He was just cruising alond browsing and with the wind at his back.

    Set up with my son at the tower with the crossbow. 7:45 I see one 80 yds out up ridge. I rookied it. We needed to switch seats in the blind and he busted us. He was in the thick stuff so I wanted to swap before he got closer. I figured he couldn't see us. I shoulda glassed first cause he was looking. Bounded back the way he came.     Me thinks you hunt quite a ways from where I am. When I start seeing roadkill stack up I know it's on. My wife drives 50 miles a day to work and when they start rutting she starts seeing 1-2 dead a day. She has not seen one yet. Just got done double checking the crossbow for my son in the am.     I'm off today so sticking it out for a while. I have funeral and services this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon so two sits lost. The silly part is it's my wife's uncle who was a die hard hunter and woulda smacked his daughters for not arranging this around prime sits! Lol Oh well. We are spreading his ashes by his favorite deer stand. I may have to bring the bow!! They borrowed 14 sets of antlers from me to make centerpieces at the reception.
