I'm all for building stuff myself even if it's cheaper to buy it....could you post better pics of Mount if your willing to share design...as a welder and machinist by trade I always like to see other guys projects...

Sorry to hear that. ...we have all been there weather we admit it or not it sucks and I personally have learned from the ones I or people I hunt with have lost....with all the practice in the world lady luck still needs to be on your shoulder....good luck with the rest of the season

Afternoon for sure here in southern tier as well

Oct 12 2014 Set up.....landowner asked me to fill his doe tag as he cannot hunt due to wife's health....i donate almost every deer I shoot so this was a good way to repay him for letting us hunt his land for so long....anyway said he been seeing a group come out every night so I took the climber and set up on edge of winter wheat field....about 615 3 doe come out. About 20 yards in front of me was a puddle in field thay is always wet....the doe gradually moved toward thay puddle so I drew and held my bow for the front leg to move forward. I ended up a lil high but went thru both lungs and she dropped just 50 yards from me 10 yards outta field....great way to end my weekend....not the biggest deer but the smile on his face for some fresh venny was worth every min of it....plus got to practice on a live target for when thay big one shows....thanks for the encouragement it really helps....o and was in a hurry to get to processor so I forgot to snap some pics....

Shot a doe tonight forgot pics tho already at processor. ...good night. ...

Had a group of deer come out about 615 put a arrow thru the lungs of one dropped after 40 yards....good night....glad I could fill landowners dmp for him as he cannot hunt this year

Up in tree for first time sence Oct 2 here we go.....good luck all....wish I had scouted this spot better seen the deer out here but never thought about how I was gonna climb up a tree. ...wasnt quite as quiet as I wish.....hope I didn't scare everything within a mile off Sucks just realized I forgot my mask....dang maybe they won't look up

Yea....but you get them real nice sunny calm days late season in the snow.....you know where the deer are feeding. ..

Cool grow that's where I grew up and still hunt a lot of state land up thay way... not during bow so haven't been up that way yet this season....weather here in southern tier seems to be about the same makes for hard time hunting from a tree

Just outta curiosity grow what part of state you hunt?

Though of another pretty funny one....was bow hunting with dad years ago I was probably 15 or so he shot one and we were tracking it thru some thick stuff. ..so to mark last blood I laid my bow down next to it for refrence...we'll after we found the deer we had to find my bow took a few hrs to find it thru the thicket....

As much as I hate to say it....that's one thing Allegany state park does right....they strongly encourage hikers bikers and what not to stay outta woods on sat during gun season....but they don't allow hunting on Sunday witch gives them their time....i wish they would not allow any non hunters on sat but I've never seen one so I can't complain. We all have a right to be there as you said Doc we just need rules and guidelines we can all agree on to help keep everyone happy and safe.

I'm in 9x.....leaves falling quickly along with acorns....rain and wind is helping quite a bit if it keeps up I'd see us being bare within a couple weeks...deer around me moving pretty good lots of action early and late. ...wife said she's been seeing a few of them in field behind house middle of day. Thank you. ...you can get damn near anything you can think of on it....from skulls to digital camo and anything else. ...hundreds of patterns was real impressed when I saw the selection.....he also dips gun stocks car parts bike parts pretty much anything if you ask...

Thank you....actually was cheap 150 bucks cleaned bleached and dipped with the plack literally dropped off skin and all.....brian Pragle in Dansville ny he takes them by mail also.....and no I don't know him personally he does good work so I recommend him

Oic yea they do cost a lil bit...less than a full mount for sure....if you find any good ideas be sure to post them up I'd like to see them to....I'm not a big fan of full mounts
