Interesting. What does the camera cost?

Here's a photo from my work. These are 7 day old bovine embryos magnified 40x .

Possibly the coolest footage to date

Yes, I have not seen them before or since, nor have they been on the trail cameras. Rumor has it that there have been a few seen several miles away. -

Funny- I showed it to two ladies at work. I told them I had something really cool to show them. They were both: "What am I looking for?" "You're looking right at it!" I explained it and it was a wonderful "duh" moment. I do agree- they would be awesome in color and or in daylight. -
Thanks Wooly- I was feeling a little lame for awhile while you and WNY were piling them up! I'd love to put a pedometer on the dogs and see how far they move. They are all over the place- in hollow trees, through multiflora rose, splashing in every bit of water they could find, and oh yeah- the yellow drops her shoulder and rolls in every bit of snow she can find just like it's some rotten dead animal. We'll see if I can get close to last year's total of 28...

Ok- I finally got out and it didn't take too much walking to get on the board. Found 2 old, abused sheds and a small dead head. Covered 5.9 miles and my dogs had a great time although they didn't score on this outing. The smaller antler has been carried around and gnawed on by coyotes (I did get some dog help). The bigger shed has been disced at least once, planted over twice, and combined over at least once. The only point not broken off is the 1" G4.

This may be the most exciting footage I have ever captured. There have been a lot of deer that have come to this tree and a lot of big bucks but this is a unique 1st!

My brother's dog brought in a sickly newborn fawn on 8/31/1998 when I was a senior in high school. She would have been conceived in January

If you can cut a stout sapling you can pole vault across- provided it isn't too wide and your stick doesn't break.

At least you don't have to take a shower when you get home...
-
Don't worry- I've been seeing it too, you aren't seeing things. Unless there are Smurfs running with the deer I actually think it could be from eating certain berries- either buckthorn or red cedar? And yes- it looks like someone poured windshield washer fluid or blue Powerade in the snow...

What color do you call it... and crazy deer...
sampotter replied to G-Man's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
It appears to be a dilute color phase- genes at different points on the chromosome that both influence coat color. It occurs in other mammals but is rare. Basically it would have a gene for brown and a gene for white and the result is an intermediate color. Cool for sure. -

That smells like a good story...

What area of NY was this? I know more than a few AI technicians. I would almost be surprised if I didn't know or know of your BIL. Classic- a much better one is the story of the salesman that was standing behind a cow bothering to the farmer. Cow lifts her tail and as she started to poop she suddenly got a tickle in her throat and coughed. The resulting sh$$ rocket was something to behold and the look on the salesman's face as fresh steaming manure hit him in the chest right where his neck met his torso was priceless...

Cow slobber is the least of my worries- most of my time is spent with a 36" glove on my left hand for protection if you know what I mean...

Dairy Farmer- I specialize in reproduction. I make babies for a living. Embryo Transfer and In Vitro Fertilization are some of the specialized skills I have.

That is amazingly awesome.

You hit it Growalot. This poll is also worthless because of who had been made aware of it until this point. This would be like polling only Republicans about Romney VS Obama...

Funny Window Decals

Saw one the other day- had one stick figure behind another bent over stick figure "Working on my stick figure family" -
Not a surprise after seeing that 90% of the "votes" were for crossbows and the first time I've heard about this micropoll was in this thread.
-
I hope the DEC isn't using a 15-20 year old survey to make decisions today. The micropoll has 1787 total "votes" so far. Why do I get the feeling it was created by a crossbow advocate and why hasn't it been made more publicly available. It's easy to get the results to look one way or another if there is no randomization of the survey participants.
-
Curious about the polling- when and where was it done? I have never been asked to fill out any crossbow survey or have heard of one and have had a NYS license for the past 11 years.

Federal law basically says thay if a cow arrives at the plant on 4 feet and they don't have obvious cancerous tumors or test positive for antibiotics then the animal is fit for human consumption on some level. That leaves deads, downers, cancers, etc for pet food. The cuts may be filet mignon but they could be coming from that bloated whiteface carcass in the video...
