911 the day that was so awful but brought America together
Ricky 86 replied to First-light's topic in General Chit Chat
That is amazing they named the streets after fallen loved ones, what city is that in ? 9-11 changed my life for ever, I knew I needed to help, and signed up that day to become a fire fighter. I made it 8 years until breaking my neck on the job, was a very rewarding 8 years. I tip my hat with the up most respect to all the men and women out there keeping up safe, thank you all for your service. -
Would you shoot him or let him pass?
Ricky 86 replied to Hunter9396's topic in Trail Camera Pictures

My Bear Agenda 6 bow can handle any Chup's out there lol. Core, I hunt about 45 miles South of Letchworth , if this is within your travel means feel free to send me a p.m. and I can tell you coordinates of the woods I hunt. 29 Days away until opening day, cant wait ! I have about 50 pictures of the 7 pointer during the month of August, first time I ever found a hangout spot for a specific buck. Normally I am lucky to get a 2nd picture of a buck in this area.

I know there has been some discussion lately about how far to go in the woods on state land. This camera location is almost exactly 1/2 mile into the woods, in between two roads. I seen 23 deer from this stand last year opening day of regular season, most deer pushed to me from other hunters. It was the most I have ever seen on state land in one day. The location is on a creek bottom, open pines on one side and hard woods on other side of the creek. I have never bow hunted this area, but looking forward to it this year.

Avon gun is about 45 minutes from downtown, South of Rochester. Small shop, and limited inventory but can order anything, very knowledgeable old school vet owns the shop. Beikirchs is a large shop, good knowledable salesmen with a lot of instock options.15 minutes East of down town. Both are good options

State land trail cam pics. Bucks and Bear
Ricky 86 replied to Ricky 86's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Here are some additional photos of the buck. To be able to harvest a Bear is a true dream of mine off of state land, no bait bucket or paying an outfitter. I will be moving 4 cameras in to the area to see if I can capture more photos, or any possible pattern. But I think its very slim odds, I only got the one picture with the camera being out for 5 weeks. Either way though slim odds or not, I will be spending a lot of time in this area this year to do my best to see that Bear ! -

Me to !! I am hoping it grows to scale, either way needs to be taken out of the heard. It has alot of growths on its one leg, I can see in a different pic and he has the black lump on his face. -
First Bear I have ever got on camera.

Easton Injexion 330's . Has over 50% more kinetic power on impact then other Cabons out there. Is the safest, smallest, lightest and most powerful Aaron I could find that can handle the power of today's bow. Mine (320 fps, 70 lb draw ) They are so thin it needs a deep 6 penetration insert for broad heads, not what is sold at local shops. All special order broad heads, I use the Rage Hypodermic . Have had a full pass through every shot and have seen every kill fall in sight of my stand .

Had a doe come out at 8:30 a.m Saturday in 9P Birdsall state land, had a 2 1/2 yr old 8 pt crash out of the woods after her. Watched him chase her for about 5 minutes in the pines until they went out of sight. Had a very tall 3 1/2 8 pt chasing a doe in 8h Lima yesterday. They hardly came out of the thicket, couldn't snap a pic. Needless to say I moved my climber about 50 yards over !
