I love when it warms up because I get to break open the humidor and smoke a nice stick. I have to wait till it gets warm because the misses won't let me smoke in the house.
I wish I did have friends with land. Heck I only know one person personally in NY that hunts and I met him on here lmao. I'm the oddball out of my friends.
I'm talking to this guide out in those two zones and wondering if anyone has an idea of what the deer population is like in those areas. I wanted to get further up from where I've been in hope of seeing more action and since it's almost a 4 hour drive from me it's not somewhere I can scout but so often.
Lawdwaz made me think of this question because of what he said on my earlier post. If you had to get rid of every single firearm you own except for one, which would you keep and why?
When I win the lotto or I save enough. Whichever comes first lol. I did start a seperate "dream hunt" savings account to see how much I can save by my 40th bday. I bet it'll be a "blast" on a hog hunt though. Overkill? Yes but I shot a hog that took 3 350 grain hardcast rounds from a 44 mag carbine.
So I played hookie from work today and went to the range. The ammo finally arrived yesterday for the new Savage Alaskan Brush Hunter in 338 win mag and I love it. Firing that 338 just feels right.
Do you have a fave?
I usually do. My 270 and 3006 are easy to feed but I just wanted the 338 because I think it's a sexy round. Hell it's overkill for anything in NY but damn it like it and now I'm suffering for it lol.
Wow, that's crazy. The question is how are they still in business? If you ever decide to hit Florida, Larry at the Razor Ranch is awesome. http://www.razzorranch.com/
