  1. Eagle rider you can leave it on for days and it won't die. They really use a tiny amount of power.
  2. So im looking on the DEC site and looks like starting from Orange county and up, I can use rifles. Guess i have some homework to do. Never went out without a guide lol. This is going to be very interesting lol. Thanks Elite and AT.
  3. Don't have place locked down to hunt yet or someone to hunt with but when the hunting licenses go on sale, i'm going to buy one and keep my fingers crossed lol.
  4. Ive been looking at one in 30-06. I hear great things about Savages.
  5. On mobile I can't see pm's. I also can't attach pictures and clicking on the "full site" button, it doesn't do anything. It would be awesome if it was more mobile friendly. Thanks.
  6. Yeah I like it a lot. I never thought having a red dot so far forward would be as good as it is but it's super fast on target. I'm setting up my 45-70 the same way. Both guns I don't plan on shooting past 100 yards, so this is perfect for the red dot and better than iron sights by a mile.
  7. Eagle Rider I'm on mobile so i can't post the actual pic but here's a link ...Check out @BornGeechee's Tweet: https://twitter.com/BornGeechee/status/494303579386044417

  9. I know this is late but... I have a 44 mag lever action thats set up "scout" style using a bushnell trs-25 red dot. It doesnt add any noticeable weight and it shoulders and gets on target faster than you can imagine. I first tried it with a long eye relief scope and it was just ok but with a parallax free red dot its a different gun. The second it reaches your shoulder, you're on target.
  10. Put Stephanie under the jail lol... 5 to 10 years should do. #jailbird

  11. Hmmmm I may have to look into a rifled shotgun then. I was eyeing the Mossberg Slugmaster. I'm just itching to hunt and I'm tired of catching a flight, getting lodging, paying guide fees and a trophy fee just to do what I enjoy. I'll be able to eliminate some of that by hunting home.
  12. This video is full of talking points that every non gunner should listen to. NRA News Commentators | Ep. 81: Colion Noir “Chic…:
  13. Eagle Rider, that is my exact set up except mine is Rossi Carbine. It's light, fast to shoulder and I can consistently hit 3 inch groups at 100 yards withe the Bushnell TRS-25.
  14. So the hunting is pretty good in Westchester Elmo? I have a shotgun but its a smooth bore 590. Do you use a rifled bore?
  15. Mr.VJP I'm originally from South Carolina. I've hunted mostly boar and axis deer once. I've been an NRA member for more years than I can remember and I keep my membership active. Trust me, I know what you mean about hunting with certain folks. Imagine being the only pro gun, NRA member, pro hunter that works in NYC add to it that my political views differ. It can become very annoying. This is from my last trip to Florida
  16. Thanks fisher2 but I've never used a bow in my life. I'd probably try every ounce of your patience lol. Bow hunting does look fun and challenging though.
  17. On the advice of others here, I'm looking for someone that I can hunt with. Ideally a deer or bear hunt. I'm 37 from Nassau County but I'm willing to travel. I've already completed my hunters safety course and I have my watershed permit. I've hunted before but guided ranch hunts in other states. I have a couple rifles (rossi 44 magnum and a marlin 45-70... I love lever actions) that I'm pretty proficient with, with my longest kill shot being about 100 yards. I'm a fast learner, good company and up to soak up any knowledge that you are willing to share. As hunters we need our numbers to increase and what better way than to pass on your knowledge. So if anyone is willing to let me tag along, feel free to respond. Thanks in advance. Moderators feel free to move if you feel there is a better place for this.
  18. Yes I'm in Nassau County. I'm going to take your advice and ask to go along. Everyone on here seem to be real good people.
  19. Will do Mr VJP. Question... Whats the easiest way to find hunting buddies? Since Ive never hunted in NY, this is just like being in China to me.
  20. Elmo I've never actually hunted in NYS at all. I've done Florida and South Carolina.
