I've seen similar on state land. They cut the back straps out, and leave the rest to rot.

Even if they jump out a few deer, there is no way they can shoot a spooked running deer.

I only saw 2 sets of tracks all weekend. It may have been the same deer.

I tried that route. Too heavy, & another thing to carry. Now I keep the scope on low power, and zoom in once I have him in the cross hairs.

Simple answer. SO YOU CAN COUNT THE ANTLER POINTS. Antler restrictions !!! I just brought a x18 scope. I can look, count, and pull the trigger, one motion. Last year, I lost a buck because I couldn't see the points !! Still upset I didn't shoot him.

In the brutal cold weather of last week, are the ticks active ?? I was out 3 times, and didn't find any ticks, but I didn't look either.

That's ridiculous !!! I seen an Elk hit with one of those canons; too low, and the Elk ran away never to be found. Goes to show, shot placement is everything. Me personally, I'll stick with my .243; or 7mm-08

Whenever I see another hunter in the woods, I pull off my orange hat, and use it in my hand, and I start waving like crazy until I get a response from the other guy. 99% of the time, he will wave back. None of these articles say if they decease was wearing orange. Even yesterday in the extreme cold, I saw a guy full camo, with just an orange hat. It was fairly easy to spot him with just the orange hat.

I wear the Cabela's MT50 camo. It weighs like 35 lbs. But it keeps me warm. I just had to upgrade my boots from 400gm to 800gm, and my feet were just OK. Not as warm as I like. I should of went with the 1000 gram boots, but I'm not happy to be breaking in a new set of boots mid season. It was so cold today, I had to move around & couldn't sit in one spot for more than 2 hours.

If I was a road hunter opening weekend, I could have filled 20 freezers. Being in the woods, I saw NO deer. I even saw a monster buck with his nose to the pavement, 5 am opening morning. He was chasing a doe across the road. I wanted to mow him down with my truck, but last I checked, vehicles are not legal hunting implements. Then driving home, every highway had doe on the shoulder eating grass. It was ridiculous.

You already injured and lost one deer, why try for a butt shot???? I let them go if only there butt is showing, as they will run for miles before dropping.

If you go out west, they skin deer immediately and hang them in a cooler. As soon as the animal gets back to camp, it's skinned.

After last weekend, I ordered a new pair of hunting boots. The 400gram boots are being retired, and I moved up to 800 gram Danners. If that doesn't work, I go to 1000, or call it quits.

What are the exact laws of giving and receiving DMP's ??? Are their limits ?

If they pull you over with NO deer, can they check your hunting licenses ?? What if I have my brothers back tags with me, and my brother is not in the car ??? What if I have my brothers DMP's, and they are not signed over properly ?? What if I'm carrying bear spray on the Throgs Neck Bridge ? (NYC) (I can't shoot bear where I hunt, so I spray them away)

I see more & more ticks in the Catskills. As a kid, there was never a tick in Sullivan / orange County. Now, every time I'm in the woods.

Death Penalty for morons with hunting rifles. How can anyone look through a scope, acquire a target, and fire without seeing the deer is life less.

Do a DNA test. Only way to know for sure.
