  1. Growalot.. i don't think the answer for you is no crossbows.. I think the answer is for you to find another place to live other the movie set of "Mad Max"... you might want to consider a move to a safer area of the world As for your law enforcement "bad guy" rant... we might as well not have ANY game laws then, seems to me you think that the officers aren't doing their jobs anyway... so who would there be to enforce all the laws if law enforcement is the bad guy? And I still think none of it pertains to the crossbow issue what so ever.
  2. I never said I didn't care about slob hunters.. I just don't let that dictate how my hunting experience goes.. the introduction of crossbow will have little or no affect on any hunters hunting experience unless they become so obsessed with the inclusion that they start losing sleep over it... like some of you seem to be. Now you're paranoid about law enforcement being the bad guy... you need to just "shut up and hunt".. less seeking out the negative and more embracing the positive... and for the record.. in my areas I have not seen the so called "slob hunters" in the numbers that you discribe...and I certainly don't spend the time I have to hunt... dwelling on what other hunter are or are not doing.. I'm too busy hunting.
  3. So true.. an unfortunately that hunter mentality is the reason why it is hard to devise a management plan to benefit the whitetails and please hunters in NYS without having to pass a law to do it.. we can't rely on hunters to show restraint themselves so we have to force them to.. sad situation really
  4. Actually there is plenty of data out there to negate your belief, just look at the other states that recently included crossbows. As for your different breed theory, you need to get around a little more, people are pretty much the same wherever you go. I've been all over the world, and in every state in the country..trust me, we are a different breed, and the rest of the country are the first ones to point it out, except for CA, where there are mostly NY transplants anyway..damn liberals gravitate towards one another. I'm not sure how bad the road hunting is by you, but that is the biggest problem around here. And it always starts opening day of the rifle season. And before you say a xgun is too big to fire from a vehicle, you have to realize that the bed of a pickup will be the perfect platform, as well as the mini vans with sliding doors on both sides. And as far as data, let's wait until two seasons have passed before using completely different areas as models. One should be out hunting instead of worrying about what others are doing... you can shoot any weapon from a vehicle.. so what? why should that matter when it comes to your hunting experience... I never see road hunters because I'm in the woods hunting instead of worrying about the bad peopole doing what they will always do... thats why we have encon officers and policemen... thee fact that some idiot might be using a crossbow illegally, or any other weapon for that matter is not a reason to refuse that weapon inclusion into hunting season.
  5. and needs to be passsed in the state senate as well
  6. I get a kick out of how all the "no" items are broken into specific small parts and the "yes" items are generalized... hmmmm... How about these: shoots a projectile with fletchings.. yes shoots a projectile with a nock.. yes Has a serving on the string.. yes fires a projectile at less than 400 fps..yes projectile doesn't load into a magazine...yes Doesn't go BOOM!... yes Can purchase at any archery shop... yes Can be repaired at the local gunsmith shop... no Lmao
  7. 10 Acres??... wow that must really reek! the small 300 sq ft patches are bad enough.
  8. a good tip is to make sure you always leave some where you pick and they will multipy each year... and a 2 acre patch must smell very strong as you get close to the patch!
  9. UhOH Larry.. now you and websters dictionary are going to be lumped in with the rest of us as the terrible crossbow pushers
  10. I will say that I have yet to hear you complain about the lack of deer you see... I will also say that other than the "I feed my family" BS you are pretty straight about why you hunt like you do.. I can respect that
  11. I won't. I don't like loudmouth internet bullies. Sitsintrees has proven himself to be a total joke. NY antler and skyhunter are close behind....all blather and no substance, and nowhere near as clever as they think they are. SteveB and WestNYbuck are sarcastic and close minded, but not total idiots. If you are looking for a rational and reasoned discussion...I don't think we will find one here. So far that leaves the only two here that can hold a rational discussion are you and Spiker.. why don't you both just talk amongst yourselves then... you can take turns dodging questions from one another. ;D
  12. Who ever said I want people passing on small bucks.. I'm just in favor of the idea... I don't push my way of hunting on anyone.. I just have an opinion on the subject. As for wny and vast farmland..I have all of that here in Madison county...
  13. hunting to feed your family is BS...just because you eat venison doesn't mean you need to hunt to feed your family... if my family was in that dire a need for meat I would hunt year 'round without a license and fill the freezers. But we're talking about hunting season here, not feed the family season. The meat hunter excuse is lame IMO.. more an excuse for not having the restraint to pass on a small buck because the hunter is afraid he won't be able to tell his buddies that he got a buck that year... I have gone without a buck many times, but have yet to not put meat in the freezer...
  14. And still a trouble maker.. oops sorry is that too harsh for you? Don't want to make you feel like you're feeling Bullied..lmao Pussy!
  15. have you tried the wild ones muzzy?
  16. Get off the same kick already Rocket... you have said the baiting thing enough times I think we get your point. You don't like QDM .. we get that too.. even though you don't know the first thing about it.
  17. A square adult might not......a parent who survived teenagers definitely would....dude. A parent that "survived" teenagers would be too cool to use the word "square" then... like I said before .. you're nothing but a trouble maker...
  18. LMAO...you have guys calling opponents communist males when they are American women....and you have the audacity to call me childish? LMFAO It was absolutely an answer. I never said you were childish... and the answer would be a simple yes or no
  19. that is not an answer... that is a sidestep.. you see?.. you make it hard for a person to have an adult conversation with you...
  20. I see all the things that you speak of and I agree with a lot of what you say... but those people aren't really practicing the actual concept... I have said on here before that I am not a member of the current QDMA much for the same reasons that you have stated.. but that doesn't mean I don't agree with the concept. I spent many years speaking about it and the concept is a good sound management idea that benefits both hunter and whitetails... you can hate the approach that some have taken in it's name but if you know the concept its a sound one.
  21. I have dug them every May during turkey season for many many years.. they make a great french onion (leek) soup... just replace the onions with leeks. I like to eat them raw with a little salt just like a radish. The leaves actually taste great in a salad
