  1. I myself haven't seen very many 14 year olds in the woods with or without a parent... or at least rogue 14 year olds... my friends and I have all been bringing our kids hunting with us since before they could carry a gun.. with no incidences what so ever. Not allowing younger kids to get involved in hunting because of an anticipation that something MIGHT happen seems ridiculous.
  2. SUPER- but remember those words next time you have that SUPER BUCK of a lifetime show himself to you and next thing you know, here comes dad and his gabby jaw-jacking 12 yr old along under your stand and Jr's bearing down on tree stumps and chipmunks. > I have NEVER had that problem... LOL.. no offense but I'm astounded at what happens in some of the places where guys from this forum hunt...
  3. I stand corrected.. sorry
  4. I don't see any benefit in a shortened gun season.. especially when it comes to population control in some areas
  5. I was able to get a picture from that ceremony and it seems you are correct virgil.. looks to me like the family is seated to the left looking at the picture or the presidents right... lesson learned here
  6. I must confess I did not see the actual ceremony footage, but will do so...
  7. I'm for 12 year olds hunting across the board.. with every weapon in every season... supervised by a parent or gaurdian of course
  8. Having spoken to 1000's of hunters over the year and attended many forums...I think that more hunters than not would take that shot.. most hunters don't even wear a watch when hunting... let alone know when legal shooting time is... they would kill the buck and tell the story for years... conveniently leaving the part out about what time the buck was shot.
  9. I'm sure that we'll find that the 5-year plan will be much like the last 40 year plan.. without any significant changes.
  10. Voluntary QDM has taken hold here in NY some as well...I like the idea of rotating non-huntable acreage... not sure how many here in NY have that concept added to their program though.. I think the hunters like hunting over the food plots.
  11. First half of October. Works for me.. then I would definitely buy one..
  12. I might take you up on that just to meet you... you are one interesting dude!
  13. I gotta meet you sometime to see if you are as goofy as you seem here... Don't ask me why.. but for some reason I like you Rocket.. you make me laugh.. you're still goofy but you make me laugh.
  14. If you say so... you wouldn't happen to have any ocean front property where you are too would you?? :
  15. Put the weed down and go back and read the post... I said IF there were a separate season... not .... i want a separate season. And I think Oct 1st to the 7th would be good southern zone.. then a week off before bowseason
  16. no.. i said I could walk across it in 10 min.. but we weren't talking about that... were talking about what you said a few posts ago.. and I don't believe you find 4-8 winter kill deer a year on 200 acres...
  17. I didn't say I wanted to add to it.. I just asked a question... and there is plenty of room for another week long season... and there are no stupid questions just stupid people
  18. I didn't call 200 acres a postage stamp goofy.. you did... aren't you even reading you're posts???
  19. The ones you pointed out for him were too small.. he only goes for the big antlers
  20. Tennesee does not have a statewide QDM program.. they offer up guidelines for hunters... but do not have an overall QDM plan that is state mandated... just too hard to do
  21. Bill still need to clear the senate and get signed by the Governor
  22. yes i live where I hunt also and the snow gets quite deep and no i have never seen the winter kill you say you see.... usually the reason for winter kill in most areas is over population and lack of browse... mother natures way of thinning out the herd... 4-8 deer don't fit on a postage stamp
  23. Simple.. you don't shoot... that's a no brainer
