Showed this to a bud, said he really doubts the story, and believes it's a high fence deer. He hears about most BIG LI deer, and didnt hear nothing bout this.. Plus, his logic is, that if this deer was hitting a potato feild, he would have been jacked before bow season. Deer of this class go for $15-18K on preserve hunts.. I'm sure something about this deer/hunter will trickle out.. We'll see..

Train Operator for the NYC subway. Only place I could find to play with trains all day... Wife won't let me at home!

DEC has a Fisher Sighting Reporting project on going.. Saw 2 last year in Olive.. Not a huntable species, but you can trap them.. They were NASTY sounding, chasing easch other for over 1/2 hour..

Check out some NJ shops, NJ allows shops to process deer.. Uncle uses one that'll make hot dogs, keibassa's, and a bunch of german sausage types..

Hello, it's Duane/NYDeer from the 'old' forum and other Ny hunting sites.. Good to see many of the familiar names/handles on board already, and I'm sure this place will become the new 'go to' site for NYS sportsmen.. I hunt & fish mostly on Long Island, but have traveled around the state quite a bit.. Have a safe season everyone..

I have some milsurp. Nothing exotic, but I didnt buy them to hang on the wall.. My deer gun is a sweede 96 sporter I've been working on over the years. Scoped, turned handle, refinished cut down stock, cut & crowned barrel. Sweet shooting gun. I have a mostly stock sweede 38 too. Also, I have 2 '54 russian Sks, a moisin nagant project, and another 8mm GEW project in 243 rockchucker, but its really rough....

Last year, there was the Brookhaven Monster Buck, 200-class 20 pointer with multiple beams.. This year, can the magic continue??? From another forum, allegedly taken from a potato farm east of Riverhead.. 48 point non typical,which should score between 265 and 290.. Anyone know anything about this??

Yesterday, while driving on Sunrise, I saw 2 good bucks battling in the grass field between Connequot State Park & the SC Water Dept Building.. A small doe was standing right there with them so I guess it will be kicking off soon..

Islip area, I hunt west side of wfp, its not posted where I go.. Never had any problems, no houses nearby! BUT, I also never go weekends so its usually pretty quiet.. except for some animal rights A@ blowing thier horn every morning passing by.. Chiggers=Knee High rubber Boots, no problems.. Tim, your Mark A's hunt buddy, right? Is he over here yet?
