    That phrase has been around a lot longer then anyone on this site. My grandfather lived by this phrase literally. Growing up was hard for my grandfather and that was how they fed there family they didn't have a lot of money to go spend on groceries so they bought the essentials. Im lucky to be able to pass on smaller deer so I can shoot a bigger one. but if you had to live on that and it meant having supper that night guaranteed you would shoot no matter what size the deer was. ( don't get confused about my name, its an inside joke with some of my friends. I am definitely not a trophy hunter.)

    went out at 10 got to my stand started to climb up, got to about the second rung looked up the hill and bam a small 6 standing there looking at me. I stood still got down grabbed my bow knocked an arrow and he ran off. so close but so far.

    O yea after bedding down all night they will be moving for sure. I woke up at 6 and it's still pouring here in 7S so back to the olhay sack

    I like hang on stands with climbing sticks the best. I do have some ladder stands and I like those as well. I have one climber that I set up like a hang on stand and I bought climbing sticks to get into it. that is my favorite stand because the platform is huge and I can adjust the height of my seat so I can sit like in a lazyboy!!!

    i had a Moultrie that was working great on its 2nd year until the bear got it and destroyed it.but its ok because i got him in the freezer lol.

    spike horn. I sat down under a tree for roughly 30sec. then he walked up and I sent one straight through his chest. (hit just about every organ he had im pretty sure)

    Turkey scratches. Scrapes would be cleared out more and you would notice broken twigs on the sapling trees
