  1. Thinking about getting one from a family friend who no longer uses it... 2004 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4 - automatic, 75 hours. $2,200...good or bad deal based on specs alone?
  2. Last encounter with them at BP as I declined politely to sign their petition/join, they started barking at me about how I don't care if small bucks are shot, and that because I didn't sign up that I shoot small bucks and perpetuate "the problem." I told the guy that I agree if someone wants to take a small, legal buck, then so be it. Not everyone wants antlers or older deer, or has alot of field time available with how busy life is. I let him know that those weekend warriors and those who may only go out opening day each year are what keeps license sales afloat and keeps our voice relatively loud. Then I asked him how old was the buck he shot last year and showed him a pic of the jawbone of the buck I shot last year and he shut up pretty quick. I said learn to hunt and you won't be whining about what others do with their own decision making process.
  3. It sounds like one would work well for your scenario. The biggest challenge is making sure you have reception at the place where you plan to set th camera. You need either at&t or t-mobile - don't worry about contracts, etc. Just see where the nearest tower is to your parcel.
  4. Minor detail - you cannot send videos; only photos.
  5. The one shot in 2012 is wisconsins current record.
  6. Most definitely. A bag of 10-10-10 is cheap and one of the most effective items to buy (and a chain saw) to improve the land. A small native browse-filled field with some 10-10-10 laid on it makes one heck of an unidentifiable food plot. Same goes with dressing some soft/hard mast trees.
  7. You are looking at the 2012 buck. We're talking about the 2013 buck...someone posted the wrong buck on the first pic.
  8. I'll take bedding all day long. Let some farmer worry about the food. But Doc already knows that, lol.
  9. What precisely? Different strokes for different folks, most certainly. Some people shoot bows they build and broadheads they knap. One thing I will say, is that I haven't seen someone try one out, and then not like it (other than a product/service malfunction). Merlot, I have alot of experience with commerical cams and specifically some MMS or data transfer cams of the type you are asking about. What do you want to accomplish with one?
  10. Before anyone jumps on the "borrowed bow" comment - True story. I met a man who had just shot a 185" NET buck. I was picking up a doe I had shot that was being processed. The guy wanted to weigh the buck. He knew it was big, but didn't know just HOW big it really was score wise. I helped him drag it out of his Chevy tracker. My eyes almost popped out. I offered to take some nice photos of him and the buck with my DSLR and he agreed, but didn't have his bow with him, so I let him borrow mine. Pics went into publication and there he is with his buck and my bow...just to frame the shot.
  11. There are more lawyers on here than you think. I also know one or two of them. Hard road no doubt, but well adjusted, good people, and they simply work hard at being good at their craft. I'd love to go to law school. If there was one local in Rochester, I likely would have went.
  12. Again, nothing has popped up as questionable. The bow shop owner did lend him a bow for the pics, as he had ran home first apparently. But other than that...seems legit thus far.
  13. http://games.rit.edu/ Top-ranked and right in town. Video game sales outpaced movie sales for the first time this past year. We were just talking about this at work today. Co-worker's son went through it and landed a darn near 6 figure income before he even graduated. No law schools in Rochester. Wish they did....
  14. Huh? You smoking something? It just happened and hasn't been put into a magazine yet.
  15. Gotta let the story play out. Seems legit, however, thus far. Same county as prior record. Same record has been broken 3 in 4 years, and a well-respected bow shop owner has hitched his bow shop name to it by taking pics of the buck with his truck in the background. Kind of stupid to do if it is tied to illegal activity.
  16. Anyone think there will be a 200" buck this year in NY?
  17. AT is blocked on my network from time to time, but it is on there. That is the current record. The new one is also within 244" and was shot with a Hoyt - not a Mathews as seen in that pic. Quite a few pics of it out there.
  18. Provide them what they don't have. In seclusion, even better. A late season plot is nice. A bit late for this year. The other thing is to make sure that you are spending your time wisely. Food plots in heavy ag to me are a lower priority than having proper hunting technique, access, etc. You know where the deer feed and planting it is someone else's headache. You focus on killing the deer.
