I am not trying to burst your bubble. But, 30 minutes is long enough. Hit with a bullet of any kind in the vital area he would be dead. I do not think it was hit in the vitals.

I have seen this before. A guy I work with. His wife shot a wart covered 6 point with a muzzleloader. The DEC claimed that it was just a skin condition and the meat was fine. I would question that!!!

Both are a great coyote round. But not a good deer round. However If you are not against a single shot. You can get and NEF single shot for around $250 in either of these and then send it into them and get any number of caliber barrels for $150.

Does not matter what the weather is. It is a whole lot easier to kill them from the woods than sitting home on the couch. You can do that for the next 9 months!!! -

It does not take a yote long to find anything. In 2005 I shot a small buck opening of early season. I heard that deer crash. Then 1 minute later I heard a bark. Gave the deer 15 minutes went the 50 yards to it. And the ear was chewed off.

Never bow hunted in Dec. Although I have always wanted to stick one on snow.

I have went the route of trying different bullets. I went the route of premium bullets. I have finally went back to either plain speer hot cores or Hornady SP . Not an issue on any game.

gona try it next season. Ordering either an encore or contender after X-Mas. Havn't decided between ( 7-30 waters , 30-30, 35 or 45-70)

That would be hard for me to answer. Because if I saw 1 that would be a huge increase in movement. Havn't seen a deer in 3 weeks.

We experienced the same, this year. Not alot of deer. But, still the chance is there!!!

What do you think the yearly bear take in NY is by legal bear hunter. No bait, No dog and not killing them while deer hunting. I mean go out for a bear and kill a bear. My guess is very very few.

NYS manages its wildlife resorces very well. They give out an ungodly number of permits to farmers to kill off all deer, the shut down a normal goose season so we can save them for those in the south and the raise the price of our hunting licence. LOL

I have hunted 5-6 days per week since September 27 and only seen 12 deer. And I have yet to see one all alone. 3,2,2,3and 2 Around 65-70 days of hunting and seen deer 5 days. A long season. 10 years ago before the "herd devistation" permits I would see 10-15 per sit on the same land.

223 is an excelent coyote round. smoke some 50gr. vmax and you will get just an enterance hole. Bobcats a 223 will tear up. But some fur is better than no fur. -
20-50 I have never been able to spend that much time in one spot. It seems I get 1 to 2 shoots at a spot then it is a waste to stay.

Prices are crazy. My cusin bought a Parker wilfire package off a dealer for 350 this fall. Went back a month ago to see about getting a new string on it. The dealer told him 150. When I checked on it. He was selling him a top of the line string for an entry level bow.

Personally the AR is the reason I go to Letworth. I can sit all day and feel good about it knowing that their is a chance at a nice buck. Also the deer numbers are dropping. However that might change. If they continue to allow hunting in the saftey zone Some off those deer may move out, to the general hunting in the park.
