  1. You should. Even locally there are publications that might accept your work. The quality is definitely there. It won't make you a millionaire and paparazzi won't flock to your door but it's nice to see your name in print and pick up a little something extra doing something you love.
  2. That is a very nice shot. Have you thought of submitting to any publications Wooly?
  3. I realized that while reading your post. Hence the deodorant directions. Some people might try anything unless told explicitly not to.
  4. Right. Thanks. I suppose you had to offer that in case someone missed the punchline. Like directions on a soup can or a stick of deodorant.
  5. Looking ahead to fall, I present to you my case for baiting bears with baked goods. Patronize your local bake sale! http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/alaska-bear-falls-through-skylight-into-party-eats-all-the-cupcakes-1.2688030
  6. Snakes have no appendages. ZERO. That is f'ing weird. They don't particularly bother me, but they certainly strike me as biologic oddities and therefore suspect. Also, Elmo's chart says it all.
  7. This isn't the same downstate congresswoman (LI I think it was) whose child was a shooting victim is it? I mean, that would explain it.
  8. Fish fish fish. Sun up to sun down. The spawn is on!
  9. Guard your poultry for sure. The small game will be just fine. I'd rather have more foxes than coyotes.
  10. I'm generally not one for hunting videos, but this was far better than what I've seen previously. I'd certainly watch others.
  11. Department of Health released its report today. http://breakingenergy.com/documents/ny-state-releases-fracking-report/ http://www.wgrz.com/story/news/2015/05/13/seven-years-later-ny-finalizes-fracking-review/27273637/
  12. I live in one of those ghost towns. I grew up in one. Your aim is shortsighted. It will REALLY be a ghost town when the gas is gone and the water tainted. Thanks but no thanks.
  13. Read a water body inventory. Where do you think your drinking water comes from?
  14. I interact with the general public every day so I should be used to this sort of stuff, but really man? You have got to be trolling. I refuse to accept that you are that ignorant.
  15. So sad, but so true. To experience what you miss I can only say head North young man, and bring a good pair of boots. The silence is still there if you're willing to work for it.
  16. I could certainly be wrong. It's just that, generally, wild cats avoid us humans like the plague.
  17. Thank you for this. But wait. I'm not so sure that cat just snuck up on this guy and decided to play with him. I'd wager he was holding something edible within reach but out of sight of the camera. Still fun to watch though.
  18. I agree with previous posters, 410 isn't enough gun to do anything but maim or wound. But, there's always the 28. I hunt with a woman who is pure hell on pheasants with a 28. Turkeys, well I can't really speak to that. In any case, good luck and thanks for filling the ranks.
  19. Sound advice. I clock many a mile in those boots in search of birds and prefer them to any other for comfort. For sitting in a stand all day, yeah, they might not be ideal.
