  1. These are on my hit list https://hoffmanboots.com/hoffman-insulated-explorer https://hoffmanboots.com/8-hoffman-explorer These have peaked my interest as well: https://hoffmanboots.com/8-hoffman-armor-pro-vibram
  2. I got some scrapa gortex that go well with my kuiu gators fir hiking in any distance most of bow season, even fir low creek crossings.. in fact I have a size smaller that I never returned...anyone interested $170 shipped! Very decent hikers...not quite mountaineering stiff but supportive. Size 9 I prefer rubbers fir short hikes or later in the season when the creeks get higher
  3. Smoked (in my mini) and roasted a chicken, served with some Dutch noodles and veg cooking down the carcass fir soup later
  4. It is Marcellus Elementary that we got the message from and it doesn’t mention covid19... They say because of an uptick in flu symptoms in the school...ok
  5. Biden over Bernie after SC could be in play as well... Kept my kids home today with slight fevers... got an announcement later today any kids with fever are to stay home atleast 5 days
  6. My dad will be back from Florida in a month to drive me nuts...my favorite: ”it will feel better when it stops hurting”
  7. Thanks Chris. Just too much boat for my style fishing on this little lake...when I bought it I thought I’d spend time on Cayuga but it never happened. If I could figure out riggers it would be great for catching big browns here, no time. Cocentrating on the land right now I might get a small pontoon for the kids this summer or next year. Marina guy says the Lowe is sold but he has been on vacation and the sale is not completed so I should know tomorrow if it’s still available or not.
  8. My wife already works from home but their travel has been shut down for over a week (this is a global CQA)...I’ve been following this situation and occasionally this thread for a month. I don’t like to over react but I’m glad I sold our freed up stock 2 weeks ago and feel like today may be my kids last day of school for a few weeks...that is crazy right? Good luck getting N95 filters...this is the beginning of a sci-fi right, kills oldies spares the very young...Chlorox bleach will disenfect drinking water I should probably get some for my neglected whites at minimum. Too be clear, I am not a prepper and other than a freezer full of venison we are not prepared for a long snow storm let alone the apocalypse... Edit: I think I’m gonna be forced into a mask friendly Zappa beard...it seems like the obvious choice
  9. Bring that shiny red rig down here for some nice Smallies, Wallies (so I’m told I can’t catch em), and Tigers. Didnt realize I had another reason to hate white perch but I guess they do a number on baby walleye
  10. HST on this SCUT...Lawn Mower, with benefits
  11. Thanks, Contract was signed a month ago, funds are consolidated and liquid (pulled vested stock at a 52 week high 2 mondays ago, nice), title is getting pulled this week hopefully we are in possession by mid-march. I've had the rug pulled out from under me before but things look real good. Bring on spring
  12. Thanks for the input on the r1s and r4s! It’s gonna mow the 3 open undulated lawn acres at the road frontage of the 37 wooded we are purchasing...it’s gotta cross a brook and go up and down about 30-40 ft in the process so a little tear up is not a concern. Also have a lot of post holes to dig with it and will eventually get a hoe. Definitely would like to take it into the woods have plenty of good trails could be real useful in tandem with my 825i gator...that’s the main reason I’m looking at either R1, HDAP or R4, light forest work. First job will probably putting down a gravel pad for my rv and then planting a dozen big arborvitae as a screen.
  13. Picked up a very clean JD2305 subcompact which is the predecessor to the 1025 series. I basically wanted a big MFWD MMM with compact utility features like the light loader and the 18hp 3pt. Scored it all with this late model with a 62” deck and Quick attach loader...Would like to get some more aggressive tires wondering if anyone has any HDAP or R4 experience with the 1 series SCUTs? Anybody done any cool or unique work with one?
  14. I tried both the 320 spline and the 390 and didn’t notice much difference but went with the 320...there are plenty of calculators and other tools to help calculate proper Arrow weight/balance. I believe Ashby shoots over 600 over 20% FOC on Cape buffalo and Grizzleys so 520’s with like a 15-17% FOC is nothing outrageous but does give a bit of heavy bone insurance on whitetails.
  15. Fact IMO (ha) IME Light setup w/Rages send em on a blood splattering 80-120 yard trail even when you hit the heart because they make a loud pop as that big split opens em up. Most of my harvest with the heavy settup (all that I hit through both lungs) wobbled and dropped in their spot, including shoulder pass thrus
  16. FMJ 6mm w/stricklands 125 + 75 insert is 200 upfront out of 522...shooting almost 70lb Will go through any part of a 2yr old (up to like 140 dressed) deer but I don’t suggest Fred Bear shots on mature whitetail do yourself a favor and still hit em thru the long ribs, blood trails will not be good if the hit is high or if the exit plugs these are not rages...I got lucky with my buck this season. Also I shoot under 25 typically so I can still use one fixed pin (with judgment)...but if you want range you need multiple or sliding pins...this is not fast, just mighty
  17. My marina guy has the boat now he is selling it for me on consignment...$17,300 but I am willing to negotiate. Plugged in the motor...60hrs! No fault codes as expected. https://syracuse.craigslist.org/boa/d/marietta-2014-lowe-fs175/7069557372.html
  18. This is damn crazy I love it...vet fixed him up so someone could harvest him...DEC shot one on thin ice here last week...the things people do, ha Look, feel, smell...then taste...If it passes all four in that order I’m eating it... anyone think cattle are healthy in contrast?
  19. That’s the one... I’m considering serious offers rather than sell it on the lower end to a local marina, which may be what I end up having to do.
  20. If you have any left in April/May I’ll grab some Norway’s
  21. Sweet Rig Rob...Great time to buy a boat guys!
  22. $17,000 Negotiable...It's not a bad time to buy a boat it's a bad time to sell one! Trolling motor is not part of the deal (malfunctioning), but I will be having the entire rig inspected by my marina guy at my cost before I hand the keys over! If you aren't buying this I hope it is because you are saving your Scheckles for @TreeGuy 's property
  23. +1 Old orchards...multiflora rose, cherries and wild grapes with tangled vines over downed trees helps if mixed with pine stands.
  24. I don’t remove the chest organs until I get home also leave the liver inside, just cut the diaphragm and peal out dump the guts and blood (good clean lung blood I will use to rinse the cavity if the guts were nicked) and then tie off the hoses...ready to drag. The rest gets done once it’s hanging upside down in the shed on a winch prior to the skin job all within a few hours of the harvest. x2 washing myself up in nearby water
  25. Congrats, really cute newborn Enjoy the quiet when you get it!
