Do you think this guy was rutting?
brownclown replied to DaSwampBuk's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Carefully with some of the larger ones . I couldn't get them to fit because of phone case. The 3rd one I bought fits and works well. I forget who makes it but got on amazon for like 15 dollars. Also , not sure if they all do this but you can only view on full size pic at a time . Then got to click out and back to next thumb nail to see next in full screen view. Found that annoying but it's tiny and awesome to be able to see cam pic in the stand Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -

Trying a new spot in 3n public. Looks good. Along a swampy area, heavy used trail with a fresh scrape not to far off. Wish I was closer but hard to find a tree for climber. First time here , hoping for a little luv from hunting gods. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
i have not used this model but after my earlier experiences with Primos i would never waste money no matter how affordable. I had purchased 3 of the truth cams several years ago. the ones with the D batteries and they all stopped working within the year. JUNK. but hopefully this model will give you guys better luck

A friend brought me to a new spot for me and one he hasn't hunted in 3 yes. We bump3d a doe not 30 yrds into walk. He gets to top of his and spots another 100yrds from him. Thick swampy area in 3n . Nice to have change of scenery and looks very deery. I have a good feeling. Good luck all. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
I have had a similar experience. Made no sense . Like you said you would think something chasing but then she turned and sprinted baxk the way she came went a couple hundred yards. Did a 180 and back the way she came for another couple hundred. Then just slowed and browsed along. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Sounds like a gut shot. But need more info. I would give it at least 8 to 10hours. Worst mistake you can make is to push him. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -

Your tactics might work in your area but I'm about an hour away from give or take 9 million people. Kind of difficult to spread the word Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Just ordered a third sd card reader on amazon to view from phone . 1st didn't fit bc case blocked plug. 2nd I read wrong and has wrong connection. Hopefully this works. Seemed to have decent reviews. I tried a dig camera in past but kept getting messed up formatting when using them again. But that was a few years back. Maybe would work with newer cams. Anyway the SD reader is tiny so hopefully it works. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
A property i have permission on had a repeat trespasser. First year I caught him I yelled and warned him. Next time I followed him to his truck and recorded him with date and time and my warning of involving authorites next time. He did not like being filmed. And After I turned off video I really complimented his nice truck. No threats and I have a record now. I haven't seen him on any cams yet. Hopefully he got the message. I wish I could do more but not owning the property and having the owner being a 94 year old women I don't want to escalate things . I'm afraid she would revoke my permission Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Out for the afternoon in 3n. Pretty windy. Pulled some cards. Lots of pics. Can't wait to get home and see what's happening. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
if that were true the xbow wouldn't even exist. Im sorry but that is laughable. To be able draw on and take a deer successfully from a stand at 40yrds is significantly more challenging.
-
i won't argue that fact but nor could you it is still way, way less then during gun season. And this directly a result of the difficulty, effort and "woodsman" skills needed to successfully take a deer with a bow. When you remove the level of difficulty you remove the level of character now sharing the woods.
-
i wasn't the one being addressed but i believe he was referring to a type of person. AKA slob hunters, orange army whatever you want to call them. All the bow hunters keep being called selfish because we don't want the competition. In my case and i believe in most others it is not the competition it is the "type" of hunter it will introduce. For the most part to successfully bow hunt year after year you need to be "woodsman", dedicated, hardworking, persistent, etc. etc. When you make it too easy, typically the people that choose the easy way in all there life, are the people that will now be in the woods during what can be a challenging time to hunt. I wouldn't (and believe most who are against inclusion) have any problem with full inclusion if these people were "woodsman". As of now i have to remove my cams prior to every gun season. i have no problems with theft during bow. Now this could be just a numbers thing but i also believe it is an attitude thing. You can call it "elitism" but i find that term complementary. I wish more of the general hunting community had the high level values i see most bow hunters having.

My point is xbow technology is really in its infancy despite being around for thousands of years. ultimately i feel they will destroy the feeling and point of an archery season.

this half joking but as technology advnces it wont be long till these are ready for the field https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS4RKoRyTik

Dripping sweat in 3n. Leaves super crunchy. I can hear tree rats everywhere. Not best day to be out but needed to check a cam at this location so figured it couldn't hurt to bring climber since I was gonna be here anyway Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk -
What happened to the Xbow inclusion thread?
brownclown replied to Steuben Jerry's topic in CrossBow Hunting
I guess ill repeat myself for the millionth time. Well i know it is inevitable that full inclusion will occur based on DEC goals of eliminating as many deer as possible continues. Im just curious of those of who are insisting for full inclusion during bow season, will you fight or object when this slippery slope inevitably starts including muzzle loaders ? The only reasoning/argument that i see being proposed by the those who want full inclusion consists of nothing more then "it's not fair". it just seems to be a jealousy yet no one is stopping you from using the compound now. Those of you that physically cant (age, disability, etc.) should be allowed use of xbow and that seems universally supported by all posting. All of you on full inclusion have the all or nothing mind set. Why not compromise. Split the season evenly or allow xbow use during archery on private land. To me that seems like everybody would be getting what we want. Hunters would be united. seems simple to me but unfortunately Compound users are the ones who will lose (this time, next it will be xbow ) because untimely in isnt about the hunter, it is about DEC agendas which i dont believe align with most hunters. -
its not much further to Putnam county and there is lots of land there.

well that wasn't what i meant but glad we reaching some short of agreement. LOL. but even as you thought i purposed of no vise versa, I would be in too. I have no interest in cross bow hunting but if i had to in order to be able to hunt i would. under those guidelines Hopefully i would be able to to get my skills to a point i felt ethically comfortable to hunt with a Trad bow too. I have be practicing for years but being rt hand , left eye dominant i cant find consistency . Thinking about switching to lefty after season to see . -

This another area of big disagreement among those for and against full inclusion. Yes xbows share similar features with compounds BUT they also share features with guns. The features that they share with guns are so advantageous that most Archers feel justify there exclusion from the archery season. And before this cycles back to what about advantages over trad bows. Every compound user here argues that they should have there own season as well. None of you that argue for inclusion have any argument besides whining "it's not fair". My opinion is to split it evenly 1st trad, then compound, then xbow. Also wanted to add that on private land use whatever you want.
