I wish. Fun hunt tho. Deer were out in field all night lost track of how many I saw. Passed on 2 fawns and a 4 point.

Works good for chicken breasts too. Run them through there then marinate and grill.

Up and in for a quick Pm hunt. 72 degrees with a slight breeze. Killed my first mosquito of bow season! I already saw a big doe wandering out of range and a fawn under my stand. I’ll take that as a good sign.

My favorite sound is the crunch of deer footsteps on leaves... and for one of my spots that's near a road, I've grown to love the sound of a car horn. That means deer should be heading my way in a few minutes. -

Passed on a doe fawn and a one-antlered spike. Had a few bigger does come in but never got in range.

That commercial alludes to a firearm accidentally killing a kid. That accounts for just over 5% of “kid” gun deaths. If we assume it’s a legally owned gun, I’m sure that number drops even more. I guess I just don’t like that scenario displayed like it’s the way kids are actually getting killed.

Thank God that poor kid survived being shot… so he won’t be included in those numbers, but I get what you are saying. For those who don’t know the story, he was in a car in front of a store and was caught in the crossfire. Two people were charged with the shooting, one was 16.

He had a good season as a Yankee. Too bad he got hurt, hopefully he can make it back for some postseason ball.

While stranded on Nantucket for an extra long weekend we saw quite a few deer including some good bucks. I did a quick search and was happy to see they actually allow hunting. Also found this interesting article about how the herd got established there. https://yesterdaysisland.com/true-story-of-how-deer-got-to-nantucket/amp/ The best part… We’re home and I’m heading out tomorrow morning for the first bow hunt of the season.

I can’t speak to the country as a whole… but I can tell you that in Rochester the horrific deaths of kids aren’t from legal guns at suburban play dates (or tigers).

Ages 1-19… and 30% are suicide. Cars are getting safer and medicine is improving. We won’t get into how Covid lockdowns limited car travel and increased depression. We all agree kids killed by guns are sad, but that data was presented with a goal.

If someone's not smart enough to keep loaded guns away from kids, I don't think a TV commercial is going to help. Some would say it doesn't hurt either... but in a world where there is already a narrative being pushed that "all guns are bad", I disagree. The same goes for "safe storage" laws.
