Grilled boneless/skinless chicken thighs from Costco. I could eat them every other night. If this Covid shit gets real... I might need to.

Grilled chicken and light Canadian Beer... In my mind, it’s summer

Thanks to whoever recommended outdoor limited. Now I’m just waiting on the scope rings. No such thing as a cheap/budget round for this gun... but Iv got a few dozen other calibers for cheap shooting. This is next to a .270 for reference... these WSMs certainly are “short & fat”!
-
I agree... I have scopes on almost all my rifles, and sometimes I miss iron sights. Although without a scope on this gun... I’d just be looking down the barrel like it’s a shotgun.
-
Change of plans... not splurging on a scope for this yet. I freed up this Leupold 3-9, so I’m just waiting on rings and ammo to come in, then we’ll see how she shoots!

I am afraid for poor @sodfather. I feel like that dong pic is already on one of his trail cams... likely being eaten alive by a pack of coyotes. -
Apparently we don’t have cabbage in the corona virus apocalypse... but we had Irish soda bread!!

Still at least one buck in 8H still packing his antlers... all 3 points!

This better not be the new normal... trying to keep a 1.5 year old and her 90 year old great-grandfather socially distanced isn’t easy for either of them, but it’s the right move.

I believe @Chef had a red dot for sale... he might have some helpful insight.
-
The best thing you can do it try to check them out or even better shoot one. I wasn’t sure I’d even like a red dot, but it is fun for closer ranges and cool to be able to shoot with both eyes open. I also have flip up backup sights that you can still use through the red dot (or if you remove it).

Yep what @moog5050 said. 4 MOA covers the target at 200 yards... but without magnification l can’t see the target very well at that distance anyway. Iv got ARs with scopes for that.
-
I have a vortex strikefire. I’m really happy with it. It’s a little on the heavy side for red dot, but it’s a nice big diameter. Perfect for fun at the range under 100 yards. Mine is only red, but they make one thats red or green.
-
Looking good! There’s tons of options for scopes/sights/red dots.. it all depends what you plan on using it for.

One guy won the first and third gun board drawings. He said he only put in $20 each time.

@Nomad if it were my family I’d say go and be vigilant about keeping distance and not touching surfaces. That’s a big moment and memory that they would regret missing. -
I had a simple approach. I missed the first gun board drawing because I wasn’t paying attention... then put in $20 each time until I won the gun I wanted. Best $60 iv ever spent!

I was lucky enough to win a gun at @Culvercreek hunt club’s awesome QDMA banquet. It was the fourth off the board after an o/u 12 gauge, a howa 6.5 creedmoor and a Ruger PC 9mm. Couldn’t be happier about scoring this Model 70 in 325 wsm. It was a fun night with forum members, and for future reference, if you want to be blessed with good luck all you need to do is sit next to @Nomad. The next challenge is picking out a scope.

Almost like Cali's shelter in place plan... Shelter in place, or run errands, whatever.
