  1. That is exactly what I mean about a loophole. Upstate if the gun is not registered then there is no record of ownership because it could change ownership without any record so therefore a AR could be privately bought and registered within the next year to clear this ban. Dont mistaken this for my upcoming plans of buying a AR but I am just trying to figure out how they are going to actually enforce this and if it really makes sense.
  2. Not to mention I can technically still go buy an AR somewhere within the next year because the bill states owners have one year to register their AR's
  3. So once again there will still be plenty of loop holes which is why I dont understand why they are going to such great lengths. And maybe this belongs in another topic but what the hell does having a pistol grip on my shotgun or rifle have anything to do with being an AR???
  4. My guns are registered but upstate I believe they do not have to be registered so if a private sale takes place then how will anybody know?
  5. Got it. Thanks. What about the ammunition background check, doest that apply to all of New York state or just NYC?
  6. Here is what I cant understand is how are they going to enforce the private sales background check?
  7. I am a nyc resident and have a permit but a friend of mine that lives near my hunting camp said something to the fact of now having to register all of his guns and a statewide permit will be put into effect.
  8. I cannot find any clarification in the new bill but is it still only mandatory for nyc residents to obtain a rifle/shotgun permit or does all of new york now have to obtain a permit???
  9. Thought this was interesting. I am waiting for the public to lash out! http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.1236263
  10. Thank you for your thoughts and offers. My homeowners insurance insurance isnt covering anything but FEMA is supposed to be helping out, its just a waiting game. I cant start rebuilding yet anyways because we still dont have power and probably wont for another week or 2 cause con ed cant access the neighborhood because there is too much debris and construction equipment. I am lucky because my house is still standing and my wife and I made it out which is more than i can say for my neighbors.
  11. My area was a zone A. My house is on the border line of A & Bso thats why we stayed but it didnt matter cause the surge went way past Zone A and over B. My block had 5ft which completely submerged all the cars.
  12. Thats my neighborhood I am between Adelaide and Aviston. Its a war zone down here. Here are a few pics.
  13. My block is part of the disaster area in Staten Island. I was hit very hard and lost most of my personal belongings, destruction to my home and lost both my cars. My wife and I almost lost our lives trying to escape in our suv which was engulfed in 4ft of water and we swam back to our house with our dogs and just hung on for the rest of the night. Though we went through all of that I feel I cant complain because alot of my neighbors are being taken out in body bags or are still not found. I am now safe at my in-laws house for the time being and I figured I would log on to take my mind off of things. It is going to be a long recovery down here. Good luck to all and my condolences.
  14. Really??? Thats news to me. Where has a coyote been spotted? I have seen fox, rabbits, and skunks but not much more than that.
  15. Too bad. I was considering leaving my wife's annoying pug outside next time they are flying overhead lol!
  16. I have never seen them downstate, only upstate. Cool to know they are here. Are they considered birds of prey? I dont recall seeing them on the DEC site.
  17. That is just wrong. Now that is true animal cruelty lol! I know deer usually dont have many facial expressions but I bet he definitely cringed!
  18. Could be an explanation as to why there are so many monsters in Long Island as well.
  19. I never thought about the mineral supplementation from the sea salt that could be fulfilling nutrition. Good point!
  20. The problem is that there really is no land to hunt. The wood lots that these deer are living in are surrounded by mostly busy streets and nieghborhoods and there is no large continuous tracts of land so I guess the fear is that most bow kills end with a bit of a chase and they dont want a deer gushing blood into someones backyard or busy street. The largest tracts of land are the old landfill areas which is now being converted into a city park with nature trails and ball fields.
  21. That is a bit disturbing lol!
  22. That is awsome. I never saw a sleeping deer on trail cam!
  23. there are no hard numbers but the last estimation was around 1500 which even though there are alot of sightings i personally find hard to believe.
  24. staten island is not big at all about 102 sq miles. 14 miles long by 7 wide.
