  1. Filter is clean and an open style. I actually have it out now as I have had that issue in the past. But it acted differently then. Humidifier is suddenly leaking water. Just had the whole system serviced in May along with an A/C and humidifier install. Exhaust is new this past spring too. I started a warranty/maintenance agreement with them too. I'm ignorant about this stuff.
  2. Hoping to make an afternoon sit today after wussing out this morning and our furnace is acting up. Runs for 10-15 mins then shuts off long before reaching setpoint. After 10-15 mins it kicks on again, but dies. Waiting for Isaac service call. Glad to be able to get them on a holiday!
  3. We have that exact same thermometer in our tower. Pretty sure it's reading just a tad colder right now!
  4. We had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday as our son in law had to return to Delaware for work today. So we got our bellies filled yesterday and my wife and I had planned to sit together this morning in our tower stand. Saw the weather at 4:30 and we said the hell with it, let's sleep in. Now I'm looking out the window at bluebird skies, no wind at all and 12 degrees. I'm a wuss. Good luck out there everyone, we'll rejoin the fray with an afternoon sit.
  5. Lol, guts are gone but twig and berries are still attached.
  6. No, can't say I've ever hung them in the garage with their inner workings intact.
  7. I'll post up the usable meat weight when she gets it back from her processor.
  8. Plus I don't see a distinction for buck or doe unless I missed something on the website. I always thought that a same-age buck weighs more than a doe gernerally speaking. Maybe not? I know that size in general can vary greatly, especially by area.
  9. So in the live thread yesterday @Lawdwaz asked about our the weight of our daughters' buck. I joked that I didn't weigh it yet but could get a quick girth measurement. So today we did both. Instead of cluttering the live thread, I posted it here. Hey @wolc123 My results are a bit different.
  10. If that was a nice buck, he certainly wouldn't have been safe!
  11. Didn't go out this morning as I had to take the car into the shop. Walk through the house and look out the window at the backyard target range and see her hanging out at the 100 yard target. Hung around for a while. Wasn't bothered by me taking the dogs out. I never shoot them from the house (yet) so I think she feels pretty safe. Doe tag in my pocket too.
  12. Currently hanging, but hasn't been on the scale. Will weigh tomorrow and update. However, I could get a tape measure on him quickly for a fast PA girth conversion..
  13. They got it back to the trail that follows the property line. Rack is in pristine condition. And now she knows what a deer drag is like. Her second best ever deer - happy daughter! Daughter comes to our place every year. She hunts harder than I. Always more glad that she gets her NY road trip buck than if I get my own. It’s become a nice tradition. Happy Dad. Now I’m out for the afternoon shift where I saw those bucks at last light yesterday.
  14. She got him! They followed him down to the bottom of the creek bed and saw him laying there on the other side. Hubby finished him where he laid. they just field dressed him and are starting the drag. They've got about 400-500 yds all uphill in a foot plus of slippery snow to get to where I can get a machine to it. This ought to take a couple of hours. I'm probably going out for the afternoon sit in a bit and will most likely get him back to the house after dark unless they make good time. Pics to follow. Every year she has had her deer recovered with my tractor, never had to drag an inch. I've been telling her all of my "olden days" stories about having to drag them all back. Now she'll know!
  15. Sorry to hear that WNY. I figured you'd recover him for sure. Rest, recharge, and get back out there with Haley!
  16. Worried. I went to help her recover it. No blood in the bed where it fell after she shot it. Just one solitary brown hair. No hair or blood beyond the shot. Followed the tracks for 200 yds - zero blood. Her husband just arrived and they picked up the track down into the creek bottom. Fingers crossed!!!
  17. Whoohoo! Daughter just dropped a buck. But after a minute it got up and stumbled off. Thinks she hit it good, but possibly high. Gonna give it an hour and go after it.
  18. So sorry for your loss Goosifer. He'll be waiting for you on the rainbow bridge.
