    No signal from the stand I was in. Got out at 2:00. Get all situated and drop my glasses overboard into the snow. Thought briefly about leaving them til later, but then thought better of it. Out of the harness, down the ladder and grab the glasses. Whoops, little eight point looking at me from 75 yds. I play statue for a few minutes and scrambled back up the ladder while his head was behind a big tree. Dumb little guy hung around for another hour. Had six does meander through at 4:00 but around 4:25, I watched 11 deer pour into the cornfield from the neighboring wood lot at about 150 yds, with the last three being bucks. The last one definitely had a decent rack, but it was getting late, snowing, and I just couldn't judge it well. That last buck came out around 4:55, but I watched it through the scope until it disappeared into the corn. I'm feeling better with the big uptick in sightings and everyone saw deer today. However no deer have met their demise here yet this rifle season.

    Good luck to everyone today! Hope to see pics of the slammers everyone is going to drop. The corn that my place borders is still standing for the first opening day that I can remember. Going to sit in our tower overlooking that, and my wife is going to our "money spot" that we both got our best deer from last year. I wonder what time we'll hear the first opening salvos from the area this morning.

    Finally stopped snowing. Got 15-18 inches. Tough walking.

    Took a walk away from the house and it's not so deep. But it looks like about 15-18 inches in the woods. Walking around is going to be a workout! Walked out to the road and got snorted at. Deer ar thumbing their noses at me!

    Holy crap did we get dumped on here. Skipping the morning to deal with the snow. Just walked to the garage and it's over my knees!

    Got about 8 inches in the hilltops of 8T. Still snowing.

    Did a short sit close to the house. I get back and look out the window...20 yards from my blind. Would have passed anyway, but still.. Pics are from the deck.

    I do the same thing. I have a tattered old fly fishing vest that I wear under my coat. I think it has like 20-ish pockets. Been using that for about 30 years. Have to spend a little time with needle and thread every year or so.

    I'm kind of married to my Remmy 700 in .270, but I'm hoping to leave it home and take this once or twice. Savage model 12 in 6.5 Creedmoor shooting 140 gr. Federal Fusions.

    That was fast. Smokin deal! I've had great luck with those cams, never had one fail. If I were quicker, I would have grabbed two!
