Which stand will be a game-time decision for me. Will be my wife, and then our daughter, and 3 yr old granddaughter here for the week, arriving Friday night. Someone will have to stay back on each hunt. I did that opening morning last year, and we all took bucks during the first weekend, so that's some good mojo. It’ll be one of 4 stands on a field edge or that shipping crate/box blind I cobbed up, also on a field edge, but on the ground. The tower and crate blind have heaters so there’s that. I don’t think I previously posted pics of that shipping crate blind after I got done messing with it. Got too cold to get some spray paint on it to break up the outline, but it shouldn’t stick out too bad with snow on the ground. I’ll camo it up or something next year.

Residents and non-residents were high and none this year. Last year residents were low and none and non-residents were none and none. Quite the change in one year. A welcome change.

Last year between the neighbors on either side and the three of us who hunt our place, I got one landowner’s tag. This year we all got doe tags. And one of the three here is an out of stater.

It was too warm yesterday to hang that doe I shot Saturday afternoon - about 45-53 degrees in the garage all day. After hanging it overnight, I had it skinned, quartered and in the fridge by 10:00 am. It'll sit there for about a week before it gets vacuum packed and frozen.

Don't congratulate me yet - I think it's my worst week of the season too. You're up by 22, but I do have Thielan and my kicker Bailey alive for tonight.

There’s camo fabric wrapped around, but yeah, my feet are right behind that. Was standing when I shot.

That doe I shot yesterday afternoon was in front of one of my trail cameras. I didn’t have a card to swap last night so I went out midday today and changed it. Was lucky enough to get a pic right as I shot her. The stand I was in is in the upper right of the pic. She’s kicking her legs back and you can see the hair blowing off of the opposite side. What a lucky shot!
