  1. A lot of deer in 8N, as usual. Today was the first day I hunted this year and didn't see a deer.
  2. My 7mm Mag used for deer in Wyoming, will bring down some deer in 8N now.
  3. So, what is the final verdict with this? Did we get rifle hunting in 8N or not. I heard it passed the NY Senate, but didn't hear if it passed into law.
  4. Lightfield Hybred 2 3/4, 1 1/4 oz sabots are fantastic out of my 1187. The last 18 deer I have killed with the 1187 were all one shot kills, but only 2 dropped in their tracks. The rest of them ran off 50 yds or so before dying. All deer were lung shots. Lightfields are very accurate, and hit hard but I think they don't expand as well as they should. But I will keep using them, they shoot the best out of my 1187. I bought a case of them at $7.99 per box about 1998 and still have them.

  6. The Zombie Apocalypse voted for obama in 2008 and 2012. Yes, we are in the midst of the Zombie Era.
  7. Mr V, you are SOOOOOO RIGHT! We have a problem in the gun owner community. We have those who understand the Second Amendment (you are one), and we have the ones who would sacrifice some of their freedoms afforded by the Second Amendment. All too often, I hear deer hunters who may only own a muzzleloader and shotgun, and trap and skeet shooters say:"Why do you need a 30 round magazine? Why do you need an AR15?" These types form our own circular firing squad within the gun community. NY gun owners, are THE most apathetic bunch of gun owner I have ever seen. I will bet that many hunters and shotgunners on this site had no clue whatsoever, that a couple of years back the 50 Caliber ban initially proposed by Schneiderman when he was in the Senate, would have included muzzleloaders and all shotguns. These same people who say :"Why do you need a 30 round magazine? Why do you need an AR15?" were saying "Why do you need a 50 caliber rifle? I see no problem banning them." These type of gun owners will need to flush out their headgear, and understand what is happening around them. WE ALL STAND TOGETHER, OR WE WILL ALL HANG SEPARATELY! When gun owners agree to any kind of bans, they give another inch to the radicals to take away what they themselves own. Wake up people. Read this: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." I saw this one recently on another gun forum, and I would apply this to any gun owner who is not 100% on board: "If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." -Samuel Adams
  8. Publisher and editor the site providing information: http://christopherfountain.wordpress.com/2012/12/24/sauce-for-the-goose/ Reporter who owns a pistol permit, and published the story releasing permit holder information: http://christopherfountain.wordpress.com/2012/12/24/so-how-does-journal-news-reporter-dwight-r-worley-rate-a-nyc-pistol-permit/ employees of the site that published the permit information: http://pastebin.com/58MUd5fT Pass it on.
  9. You live in NYC....your selected, crazy, liberal, hack dictators make the rules. Any questions?
  10. Here is personal information of the publisher: http://christopherfo...-for-the-goose/ Here is the information of the reporter, and by the way, the reporter owns a gun: http://christopherfo...-pistol-permit/ List of employees of the website:http://pastebin.com/58MUd5fT These liberal hacks don't realize that they can't hide under rocks and throw spitballs anymore. Their agenda is to hurt, harm, and even bodily injure law abiding gun owners. They will lose.
  11. Why are you feeling guilt for liking ARs? They are a semi-automatic rifle, not an "assault rifle", they are legal, and nothing wrong at all for owning them.
  12. Yes, but NRA does not do on the state level as SCOPE does. You need to also join your state level groups!
  13. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/cuomo-working-tougher-gun-laws-state-article-1.1224026 The threat is very real. We all (gun owners) MUST all band together. Or, we will all hang seperately at different times. Saying "nobody needs an AR15....nobody needs 30 round magazines..." is very ignorant. Saying so, lowers you into the mentality of the liberals who want to dictate what you "should" or "could" have. Get involved with NY state related Second Amendment organizations like SCOPE and NYSRPA. This threat in NY state is real, they try to pass these bills EVERY SINGLE year.....it is just that now they get traction because the democrats are exploiting a tragedy in CT. Join and fight, fighting for your Second Amendment rights not a spectator sport.
  14. No new gun laws. Repeal the pistol permit system and get rid of the present semiauto rifle ban.
  15. "We all need to come together to pass some good laws, in the names of the the slain individuals." Really? How many more laws can stop tragedies like this? The shooter broke a lot of laws, as most murderers do. If he broke a dozen laws last Friday, will another 20 laws help? Will another 50 laws help? Will sacrificing some of your liberty stop another tragedy? Murder is against the law.....did that stop a tragedy? Bringing a gun into a "gun free zone" (aka potential place for a mass shooting) is against the law.....did that help stop a tragedy? In fact all mass shootings occur in "gun free zones." Sacrificing liberty for a political agenda is ridiculous. Psycho killers will carry out their acts regardless of laws. Let me ask you.....how many guns were used on 9/11 to kill 3K + people? How many guns did Tim McVeigh use in killing those people in Oklahoma City? How many guns were used in the school slaughter in Michigan in 1937? Your democrat party wants to take your freedoms......think about it. When fellow gun owners fall for the rhetoric of gun grabbing democrats and their complicit media, we ALL lose. It was a horrible tragedy last Friday carried out by a very sick individual. Law abiding gun owners like us were NOT INVOLVED in this, and we should not be sulking. We are not responsible and stop feeling "guilty" that you are a law abiding gun owner! It is a tragedy when fellow gun owners start to buckle and become willing to surrender their freedoms. If we gun owners don't get together and fight Cuomo and obama, we will surely all hang separately.
  16. Remington 1187, rifled barrel, Simmons Pro Diamond 3x9 scope. Accurate as could be with Lightfield 2 3/4 Hybred Sabots. In 19 seasons, 22 deer killed, only 1 missed deer. I had the stock shortened for me because I have short arms, and had the trigger smoothed out. The gun is a dream. Could never imagine hunting with anything else in shotgun zone areas!
  17. Honestly, I have no clue!!!!!! how anyone can live in NYC. Why would any man subject himself to live in that kind of tyranny, why do you tolerate it? Sorry to offend a fellow hunter that lives in that _________.

    new ml maker

In my opinion, ALL muzzleloaders are ugly as sin. But, this one has some good features that sound interesting. The breech adapter, the better trigger, 7 LB weight, 24" barrel (I don't like long barrrels). I consider this gun "worth a look." Can't wait to see them.
  19. If you join Pathfinders Gun Club in Fulton, you can hunt the land that belongs to the club. Lots of deer there. Plus, it is a great range for shooting!!!
  20. be prepared, as you will be stopped and checked out by any ranger that may see you. I had one guy sit by my truck waiting for me to come out of the woods. I will never go there again, always felt like I was being watched by the rangers. Creepy place.
  21. who cares what NYB says or thinks! As someone else already said, NYB has driven wedges between all kinds of deer hunters in the state. I used to be an active member until I figured out what a bunch of elitist snobs run that organization. They alienated a lot of bowhunters right out of that organization. I can think of quite a few guys who dropped out because of their nutty stances. I have bowhunted for 26 years, I see no problem allowing crossbows in archery season. As I posted earlier before this thread was hijacked, I will be first in line to buy a crossbow. A long time ago a lot of guys said the same thing when compound bows came out.
  22. Lots of deer this year. Very large number of good quality bucks. Freezer is full, tags are all filled. I would say this year is one of best ones in a very long time. I hunt 8N, Ontario County.
