  1. It can feel that way some times, but this is just a expensive sport that you chose, trust me you will get used to the climber. I can now set up and be up in the tree in under 5 min. I have a climber and 6 ladder stands and I feel no less comfortable in the climber at this point.... For a new hunter being in a tree will make your chances of getting a deer go way up..... I suggest go scout your buddy's place find a tree about 20 yards off of a deer run. Set the climber up there and don't movie it for a week or so and just hunt that one tree. Get to know the area, and makes slight adjustments as needed
  2. Shot a doe about 150 yards in the woods from my friends house, shot looked good but blood dried up and after 2 hours we couldn't find her decided to go in for lunch and come back out, found her on the way in 20 yards from his back door in the yard

. Go to outhouse orchards In north Salem and ask if they still allow bow hunting, he will charge you a small fee for the season, but you will have a great food source to hunt and not much competition from other hunters
  4. Once again I have 3m looking to trade for 3h
  5. I'm not saying that I'm just saying that if people knew that defending in that way was a option maybe crimes like this would happen less often
  6. If it is on your property in other states you would have more of a right then you would here
  7. . It's not even about that, I'm sure they would just sue you... I'm just saying we live in a state that puts the right of the criminal above that of the home owner
  8. . I would not do it, because it's illegal I was just saying that we should have s little more wiggle room when it comes to defending our home
  9. Yes I'm serious, I won't do it because it's against the law and on public land I have a different feeling, but I think anyone trespassing on my private land and steeling from me I should have the right to defend my property. Every situation is different and I would make a judgement call but I just think I should have that right
  10. It's too bad that In NY you don't have the right to defend your stuff if i caught someone stealing shit from my land u should have the right to shoot at them.
  11. So this story gets even better so my fiancé was in a rush to leave camp today so when I texted her telling her that I got a turkey she started in with we should should leave finally with 20 min left of legal time I gave in and stared walking back in. My friend shows back up at the house 5 min after legal light and tells me that he bumped a buck 15 yards from my stand on his way back in..... I should have never given in. I would have doubled on a turkey and a buck
  12. Friend just texted me he had a 8 in front of his stand got to full draw had sights on the buck and top part of his climber fell, that didn't spook the buck him bending down to pick it up did.... I had to stop mid way typing this to shoot a turkey that walked by my blind lol . I have. It in here with me while I wait for my buck

. What part of westchester are you in and what dep land are you near
  14. I'm having the same problem, although I did just go to lunch in Livingston manor and saw two does in someone's front yard on the way back ..... Tonight I'm set up in a blind 50 yards into the woods in front of a crab apple tree that has a active scrape at it
  15. 3h Bucks solo, moving at night but lots of scrapes and rubs all over the place, I think by next weekend the early morning and late afternoon activity will pick up
  16. . The only thing that makes me feel better is my buddy who did get up hasn't seen anything either
  17. So mad at my self.... I stayed up late to watch the asu Utah game, and over slept didn't get out till 9:30 and had to sit a different stand then I wanted too
  18. I might have a place for you if you were willing to show me the ropes of coyote hunting, i have been hunting deer for 8 years and would love to take a crack at some yotes
  19. Thinking about trying something a little different, we have tons of trail cam pics from a fence post where a 30 acre grass lawn meets a 40 acer over grown hay field, I'm thinking of sitting against the post and kind of brushing my self in.... Haven't had much luck in the woods so it can't hurt
  20. . Yes there are shavings on the ground and there is another tree 10 yards from that too shavings hanging all off it and on the ground around it too
  21. Been back on stand for about an hour now set up a new stand today on a travel corridor we know the big 9 is using, steep ridge 80 yards to my left thick swamp 80 yards to my right field 100 yards in grin of me and 3 huge rubs 20 yards ahead on the trail
  22. . At least it didn't happen while you were in the woods.... See there is a bright side to everything my friend [emoji6]
  23. This guy started showing up on cam last few days pics 100% got my blood pumping only problem is so did these guys
