Why Tesla’s Model 3 Could Be the New Model T

One big problem though. There is very little Lithium on this planet. What will they make batteries from when it runs out? -
Why Tesla’s Model 3 Could Be the New Model T
Rattler replied to EspressoBuzz's topic in General Chit Chat
I was told the charging stations are free for the Tesla owner. I'm sure it's all figured into the cost. I see it as a novelty, because in the long run, you don't save any money considering the initial cost, electric cost, insurance and upkeep. Plus coal fired power plants still add to your carbon footprint generating the electric you need to recharge it. Even a Prius is not going to save it's owner any money. -
I recently read a report that about 40% of people with student loans are not paying them back at the moment. How can you garnish wages from people who are not working? Some have actually left the country to avoid repaying. They're all hoping for an amnesty program in the future like Clinton granted draft evaders.

Why Tesla’s Model 3 Could Be the New Model T

I'm more interested in the 3 wheeled, front wheel drive, 2 passenger Elio that is expected to sell for $7000 and will get 84 miles per gallon. It will have a custom 3 cylinder engine producing 90 HP and capable of doing 100 MPH. I'll keep the 4x4 for hunting and work, but use the Elio for everything else. It's like a motorcycle with a roof, heat and A/C. No helmet needed and registers and insures at motorcycle rates. Seems like a good idea. Just Google Elio for more info. -

Heard This on CNN This Morning
Rattler replied to Steve D's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
WHOA! Wait a minute. Isn't this the General Chit Chat forum? How is it a thread on the "Fracking Ban" was moved out of here for being political, but this obviously political thread has not been? Where are those two guys who were so "offended" by politics about fracking? Are they not upset about the politics in this thread? Perhaps it is the issue they find offensive rather than the politics in general. I smell a certain level of discrimination on this site regarding politics. Hmmmm. -
Sounds like fear of the unknown to me. It would take longer to get this gun into action than one pulled from a waist band. Besides, idiots who fear guns wouldn't be getting all bent out of shape when they see someone carry it.

This was instituted by the current administration to be used against any business it deemed to be "undesirable". Check cashing services were another one I think. It gave the government a back door method of tyranny without needing approval from Congress. The government will never give up it's desire to disarm Americans, no matter what pro-gun organizations do. That's why this fight to keep and bear arms will be never ending. Anyone who thinks there are only "common sense" gun control proposals being made, has no idea what is really going on and what the end goal really is.

Why do they want to ban it? It's a great way to carry concealed in my opinion.

"Saudi Arabia Uncovered" - PBS
Rattler replied to EspressoBuzz's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I don't think a regime change there will make them better allies. It would be more like the change we saw in Iran when they toppled the Shah of Iran with Carter in the White House. It would also be bad for US energy prices as Saudi oil would be stopped and held hostage like it was when OPEC ruled in the mid 70's. -
Supreme Court Justice Appointment
Rattler replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Saw this today. It sums up the current complaints about the appointment process perfectly. "If judges confined themselves to acting like judges, instead of legislating from the bench, creating new 'rights' out of thin air that are nowhere to be found in the Constitution, maybe Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominees would not be such bitter and ugly ideological battles. Chief Justice Roberts himself practically repealed the 10th Amendment's limitation on federal power when he wrote the decision that the government could order us all to buy ObamaCare insurance policies. When judges act like whores, they can hardly expect to be treated like nuns. Politicians, journalists and judges should all spare us pious hypocrisy." Thomas Sowell -

Why was fracking banned?
Rattler replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Excuse me, but I don't see any difference between this thread and any other thread in the General Chit Chat forum. I wasn't even aware there were "sub-forums". How many sub forums does this site have and where can I access them? I don't recall seeing another thread on here by Mr VJP. How is a thread classified as political and where can I find the rules of the road you mentioned? Basic civility is great, but it can't be one sided. -
Wolves kill 7 percent of elk in western state Wyoming
Rattler replied to hunterman7956's topic in General Chit Chat
There were once wolves in NY too. I can't wait until they reintroduce them here. I can't see anyone arguing they aren't "needed" here too. (That's sarcasm for the duller intellects) -
Why was fracking banned?
Rattler replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
There may have been a lot of reasons why fracking was banned, but polluted water was the issue used to gain support among the voters. If it was a false fear, how many of the other "potential" problems are really true? I suspect time will tell. (P.S. what kind of person pushes to have a thread shut down?) -
Why was fracking banned?
Rattler replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Seems fear mongering is the tactic used to accomplish anything nowadays. By the time the truth about the "science" comes out, it's too late. What bothers me is nothing is done to the people who promoted the fear when it's proven it was all a scam. -

Our Taxes AT Work
Rattler replied to Steve D's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I'm trying to remember when taxpayers agreed to give elected officials "perks". Didn't we used to hold them accountable for every expense? Wasn't personal enrichment prosecuted as embezzlement? When did voters and taxpayers agree to get fleeced without screaming? Probably when the cult of personality overrode common sense and voters began to believe these "representatives" were better than they are.
