  1. "To call these guns 'assault weapons' is just an attempt to instill irrational fear in people with little knowledge of guns. And again, never mind that blunt objects such as clubs and hammers kill more people each year than all rifles put together. [They're] far too busy for facts, [they're] trying to scare people into this terrorist watch-list proposal, which obliterates not just the Second Amendment, but also their Fifth Amendment right to due process of law as a prerequisite for the loss of liberties." —Ashe Schow

  3. In reality the 2nd Amendment RIGHT has already been repealed. Today it is merely a government granted privilege. That is unconstitutional in itself!
  4. Sensible gun control?? This is what their gun proposals do if enacted. Anyone who finds this sensible has no respect for Constitutional rights or Rule of Law. This is why the NRA fights against it. This is why it's dangerous to our freedom. This is why people who want it are stupid. First, who defines what prevents someone from legally buying a firearm? And how accurate is the input to the system? Second, there isn't just one terror watch list, and the lists that exist are based on secret evidence not up for judicial review. So people like the Weekly Standard's Steve Hayes wrongly end up on a list with little recourse for getting off. Denying basic constitutional rights without due process is not a solution — unless you're a statist hell bent on undermining the Second Amendment.
  5. Just for the fools who keep saying the NRA is against "common sense" gun laws and stopping terrorists from getting guns, here's their official position. It protects Rule of Law and responsible gun owners. Never forget, Obama armed terrorists with his Fast and Furious fiasco! Fairfax, Va.— The executive director of the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, released the following statement regarding terror watchlists: We are happy to meet with Donald Trump. The NRA's position on this issue has not changed. The NRA believes that terrorists should not be allowed to purchase or possess firearms, period. Anyone on a terror watchlist who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI and the sale delayed while the investigation is ongoing. If an investigation uncovers evidence of terrorist activity or involvement, the government should be allowed to immediately go to court, block the sale, and arrest the terrorist. At the same time, due process protections should be put in place that allow law-abiding Americans who are wrongly put on a watchlist to be removed. That has been the position of Sen. John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) and a majority of the U.S. Senate. Sadly, President Obama and his allies would prefer to play politics with this issue.
  6. It wouldn't keep Americans safe. If Obama and Clinton could sprinkle some of their magic fairy dust on the Constitution and make firearms disappear, the terrorist carnage would elevate exponentially. We will quickly and rudely find out that Islamists worldwide have murdered 1,000 times more civilians with bombs, the binary components of which can be readily acquired. Pick up a copy of the Jerusalem Post and check out the blast effect of bombs, then pick up a history book and calculate the number of deaths that have resulted once socialists confiscated the people's best means of defending themselves.
  7. Marlin 1894 lever gun Ruger makes a good semi auto in .44 Mag but has limited capacity in the magazine.
  8. Actually, you need at least two and plenty of ammo for both.
  9. The club was a "gun free zone" aka defense free zone.
  10. I don't think this one will go away too quickly, since it will be turned into a "Mass Shooting" demanding more gun control, just like Sandy Hook. The terrorism aspect will be spun, denied, excused and ignored.
  11. Sorry to tell you this, but your dream of the future is just that, a dream. Reality will be far from what you're hoping for. It would take a book to go into details, and I wouldn't want to destroy your hopes, so I just leave this here and wish you good luck.
  12. Do you expect a self driving electric car to sell for $22,000? How many Americans can expect to be employed making self driving electric cars? Nothing wrong with new inventions being tried, as long as they are allowed to be judged by a free market. The government should not be propping up failures because they meet an agenda.
  13. I shoot open sights with both eyes open. By doing so, you actually get a ghost image of the sights over the target allowing you to still see what the sights would obscure if you had one eye closed. This actually aids aiming. I close one eye when I use a scope though, as the same effect isn't possible with optics.
  14. Sounds like a lot of Big Government Nanny State Control, forced on the auto makers by legal coercion and fear of government sanctioned and subsidized lawsuits. I'll bet the NHTSA people are very involved in all of this. When your government wants total control of everything, there's more than one way to skin a cat. The best part is, we all get to cough up the money to pay for it. That's going to be a huge amount that will probably remove the ability to have a vehicle from the lower class in America, negating anything Henry Ford was able to accomplish with the Model T. Also, I can only imagine how safe and reliable these cars will be when a 2nd owner, in the lower middle class, buys one that's 10 years old with 200,000 miles on it. Cars today that are 10 years old don't even have power windows that work properly. You see a bright future with these vehicles. I don't look through those same rose colored glasses.
  15. See my other post about the Welfare State for a partial understanding.
  16. The solutions offered were regarding the disadvantages of building a wall. I think they work much better than a wall for much less money. Maybe not the end all. be all solution, but certainly a solution to illegal border crossings from Mexico. We can better deal with the illegals already in the country once we cut off the flow at the borders.
  17. You think terrorists are coming across the border looking for work? You know why I think we will never get Leftists to resolve any problems in America? Because they are stupid. That's not an insult either. It's an observation.
  18. What's stupid is not doing anything effective to solve the problem. I, however, do not mock people who don't understand this and tend to think like you. I pity them for the fools that they are.
  19. The point this meme really makes is, if we don't curtail ILLEGAL immigration into America, we will wind up like the native Americans. Is that what Leftists really want for American citizens? I think it is, but they're to stupid to realize it.
  20. Listen up Redneck, I'm proposing giving Americans the legal power to do what I said. I'm not suggesting it be done illegally. My proposal to arm the border militia is to stop them from getting in. You are right when you say they are protected. They are protected by bleeding heart Leftists who have no clue about why illegal immigration is, in fact, illegal. And like you say, once they are on our soil, they are protected as well, right up to the point they bomb a marathon, rape a woman, or kill someone for money. I can tell you have no real response to my suggestion, since you have devolved to the level of troglodyte using insult and mockery to try to persuade. When someone loses their cool in a debate, it's because they have lost the debate.
  21. Exactly how would they accomplish that when they have been shot dead? Like I said harsh realities require harsh solutions. Americans would not be shooting anybody that didn't risk getting shot. The word goes out we will now shoot people coming at our country like invaders and these people, if they have any brains, will not come anymore. If they still try to come, they are accepting the fact they will be shot. I see no difference between them and invading enemies. Obviously you do, but you're a bleeding heart liberal who's logic is twisted by propaganda. Get this through your head. Illegal immigrants are invaders bent on destroying the land they claim to want to be a part of. It's obvious when they refuse to assimilate when they get here, and take more than they provide. No nation ever became great by supporting a huge class of parasites in it's citizenry. They don't plan to have any part of making America a better place. Legal immigrants do. Illegal immigrants are criminals by definition.
  22. I'd also like to note, our welfare state policies are enticing illegal immigrants to enter our country illegally. The lure of all the "free" stuff is too much to resist.
