  1. I have noticed this round is becoming hard to find. Many bullet makers don't even offer bullets for reloading this round, or not much of a selection. I'm holding out for a nice rifle chambered for it. Has it been deemed an "obsolete" round already? I surely hope not. It fits nicely between my .30-06 and .375 H&H. I see it as the perfect Elk hunting round.
  2. What happened to "Reframing Trophy Hunting"? LOL!
  3. "Green Energy" windmills are a far greater threat to raptors than lead bullets IMHO. I find it amazing the federal government will give these wind farms permits to "accidentally" kill a certain number of Bald Eagles every year. They also give permits to kill lots of other endangered raptors. People concerned about lead bullets should be equally, if not more concerned, about windmills.
  4. The NRA stated in their endorsement of Trump why Hillary would be a terrible President and are simply encouraging all NRA members to vote for Trump as a vote against Hillary. Not voting at all, or voting for a third party candidate, could actually help Hillary win. That's why all gun owners should vote for Trump, even if it hurts to do so.
  5. The OP said favorites, hunting related or not. Those are some of my favorites.
  6. If the crack isn't to long, you might want to consider cutting the barrel down a little. The barrels would be a little shorter and the chokes would be gone, but it would make a good upland gun for Grouse and Woodcock.
  7. I like rattling antlers during the rut. It works for me. I also like full auto firearms, but can't have fun with them in NY. Both apply to the moniker.
  8. Example of the dictator club #2: "Our Founding Fathers built a system of government for the specific purpose of protecting us from the kind of people that are running this country right now. But those people have twisted and ignored the Constitution, more every year, until they're finally at the point they can start pushing to change or replace it. The Founding Fathers knew that tyranny is an incessantly aggressive beast and that only strict adherence to the Constitution would keep it at bay. And our only hope of stopping the encroachment of totalitarianism is to get people in government who will REALLY abide by the Constitution - not just study it for the purpose of learning how to get around it." Caroline Crawley
  9. This guy would double the national debt and cause an economic collapse. Still think Bernie is good for America? http://thehill.com/policy/finance/280583-group-raises-its-cost-estimate-of-sanderss-proposals
  10. As opposed to the club that believes in dictating their policies to everyone else, regardless of the consequences. Example #1: "[E]ven if the existence of global warming is 'settled,' the policies for how to best respond to it are not. But in the political debates about climate change, activists say that their climatological claims are irrefutable and so are their preferred remedies. If climate change is the threat they claim, I'd rather spend billions on geoengineering to fix it than trillions on impoverishing economic policies that at best slightly delay it." —Jonah Goldberg
  11. I hunt turkey and always get at least one, but many years I get two. A good friend of mine flat out refuses to hunt turkey at all, even though he hunts almost everything else. Why? He won't eat them. He claims they eat crap and points out they love to follow the manure wagons in the late winter.
  12. Plenty of unarmed protests have been met with an armed response too! Remember Kent State? Threatening the government's agenda in any way is very dangerous. No matter how it turns out, the government will never take the blame.
  13. What troubles me is the clear illustration that many people in this audience were influenced by emotional arguments, which is what the anti hunting panelists used most often. They must have ignored the factual information presented by the pro hunting panelists. Too often, public policy is formed based on emotional responses, that eventually prove to be a real disaster regarding the issue. And even after that happens, the emotional appeal calls for even more emotional response, claiming the first one's failed because they weren't far reaching enough. Until people start to look at factual information and base decisions solely on that, failure will continue to be the end result.
  14. Mea Culpa. You are right, I misunderstood what you meant. My apologies.
  15. Too many Americans don't realize what they are asking for and where it's taking us. http://dailysignal.com/2016/05/05/an-economist-explains-why-america-is-moving-toward-totalitarianism/?utm_source=TDS_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBell&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiT0RNeU56VmlNVFEyWVRnNCIsInQiOiJwZnZXQ1orUlEzR0tHYjJGTzRwdWxNeHFVa1FmR2YrVlFyVFBScENVbDZqSm9JUE9PZDFCSVFZTG90YUtOaGZ4anVUZ3ZoZVlzQ1wvY0NuMTZ0cmVYOHNwbm9RYSsxUEFxeUpzSDNmZmtKcDQ9In0%3D
  16. I was referring to the, "This tends to be a self selecting group" part. That's not an inclusive attitude. That's a prejudicial position. It's fine to be an expert, but excluding those who are deemed unworthy because they disagree, or challenge your opinion, is not the proper methodology to get people to buy into your ideology.
  17. You are missing the point. Enviro's claim mining is bad for the environment. Lithium mining is no better than any other type of mining, probably a lot worse, but is seems to be getting a pass from the greenies because it benefits their agenda. It doesn't necessarily benefit the environment though. If we are to make an informed decision about future environmental factors, we need to look at all the factors without a jaundiced eye.
  18. If this is true, it needs to be addressed. http://www.aol.com/article/2016/05/05/could-medical-errors-be-no-3-cause-of-death/21371288/
  19. "You may not find many who agree with me on this forum but they are out there. I hunt with them. This tends to be a self selecting group." I can't help but interpret this statement as pompous, arrogant and elitist. Truly in the same vein as Holier Than Thou and snobbish. I guess it's OK to be like this after high school in some folk's minds.
  20. You beat me to it Doc. You are so right. Not joining the NRA because of a single issue, that is a lot more complicated than a purist is willing to admit, is helping the antis take away ALL gun rights. Because of one issue, some people are willing to jeopardize the entire program. I don't support a lot of what the American government does either, but I still pay my taxes.
  21. A personal attack? I guess you weren't capable of addressing the post.
