Do you upgrade your gear or find what works and stick with it

I buy what I need, cry once for quality and upgrade or add new gear as performance dictates. This is pretty much my M.O. across multiple activities, including hunting. Case in point: the entry level xbow I used last season underperformed in a number of ways. It's certainly capable of making a kill shot under the right circumstances, but I don't want to miss another opportunity because I'm fighting with the xbow to get ready and make a clean hit. -
I am one of those right handed, left eye dominant freaks. The solution for long guns was fairly simple: shoot lefty. Both eyes stay open whether I'm shooting a scope, red dot sight or open sights. It hasn't been an issue for me at all.

I shared meat and meals from this past season (my first deer harvests ever) with my hunting buddies, immediate and extended family, next door neighbor and a couple co-workers. Sharing food or beer is nothing new so I have no hesitation about sharing what little venison I have with those who appreciate it.

My s/o was born and raised in Montreal and played competitive hockey (shocking, I know). She had her Hockey HOF jersey signed by this guy. Highlight of her life, lol.

Since I gorged on a huge smoked brisket platter with mac n cheese for lunch, my dinner tonight consisted of 4 tater tots, a large bowl of ice cream with hot fudge and the first of several good stouts.

We lost power briefly overnight, but no biggie. I saw four deer yesterday morning inside the far tree line of top pic. Earlier today, one of them stopped by the house for an early breakfast. -
Ha, yes they do! I'm told presentation is important, but the food never seems to last long on any plate I use.

Got sent on a last minute trip to the grocery store to get a couple things for my daughter's birthday dinner. Sweet Baby Jesus, you'd think the end was near! -
