Heard this is really good. I'm going to look for some while I'm here in DE.

I might be here a while. Starting with a Bell's Burial stout.

Hard to follow KBS and Black Note, but this doesn't suck.

Having "a" beer to start the weekend. KBS 2018 release in a growler can.

    Scared?

So if it's about the "easy way out", what's the split on compound bow hunters vs longbow hunters?
  6. I never bow hunted, but just started xbow hunting. For me, it was any easy choice. I am very familiar with shoulder fired weapons and would expect to be more successful with the xbow vs a bow.

    Scared?

I never bow hunted, but did choose a crossbow. Why? Well, two reasons. First, by all accounts it only seems a matter of time before full inclusion arrives. Second, I have a ton of experience with shoulder fired weapons. For me, the xbow is a much more natural weapon choice. I worked through the steep learning curve of archery hunting this past season, but fully expect that experience to result in some dead deer this season.

    Proof that Bigfoot exists.
  9. You're right, it's SPC II. I ended up buying a Tikka T3x Lite stainless in .308 instead. No complaints on the Tikka's performance. I thought about the fixed mag route for that one, but ultimately decided that I didn't want to deal with NY's ambiguity about being "compliant" or not.

    Scared?

What does the "*" mean next to Bowhunting and Muzzleloader? Not sure that you can infer bow hunters foregoing a harvest until the xbow season. I'd be more inclined to believe that there are more rifle hunters buying xbows who don't bow hunt. Not sure how the stats could prove or disprove that theory though.
  11. I had a rifle in 6.8SPC ready to go for deer hunting prior to un-SAFE. Plenty of ammo choices.
  12. That's the problem right there. Due process should come first.

Cheers Jay. This is an outstanding beer.
  14. Well, the language now (as I understand it) allows confiscation of handguns AND long guns now based solely on an accusation. I know of one friend who came home one day years ago to being served and having his pistols taken away. He had no clue his lawyer wife had been cheating and decided to file for divorce and a restraining order. Totally blindsided. He ultimately got everything back, but it took a while. Another concern could be for a live in gf. For example, if your new bae stays at your place for 2 weeks, she has established residence. Want to break up for any reason? You'll need to go through the eviction process if she doesn't want to leave. If she knows you own any firearms, then you're pretty much screwed with this new law as she could claim anything against you. DV is a horrible situation for the victims and I truly empathize, but we shouldn't throw away the presumption of innocence and start revoking constitutional rights over an accusation, IMO.

Score! Local spot got 12 cases of KBS. I'll crack one (or 4) open later while pondering how many of these need to be in my cellar.
  16. I've only been hunting the past few seasons. No one in my family ever hunted and none of my close friends were hunters. It wasn't until a random conversation with one of my neighbors that I even seriously considered deer hunting. I always thought you had to go away for a week to some deer camp (not really an option when my daughter was born); my neighbor laughed and said he's been hunting behind our houses for years! Needless to say that got the ball rolling. The first season was a total bust, but I was hunting and learning with every mistake. I must have asked that neighbor and another buddy a 1000 questions trying to get better! Bit by bit, I started to put the puzzle together in this small, high pressure area until finally taking my first two deer last season. The meals are incredible and the camaraderie priceless. What started out as a goal to prove to myself that I could successfully hunt a deer quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit.

    Happy Easter fellas.
  18. I really wanted to do something special for Easter dinner and this turned out absolutely delicious! These are bacon wrapped backstraps from my doe this season. Side of bacon garlic green beans and roasted potatoes. Straps were marinated for 6 hours in a mixture of soy sauce and brown sugar in a 1:1 ratio. Then each strap was butterflied down the center and packed with soft cream cheese, organic rasberry spread, garlic and chopped jalapenos. Finally, each strap was wrapped in maple flavored bacon held on with toothpicks and topped with fresh ground pepper. Braised in the oven periodically with leftover marinade until finally broiling each side to crisp the bacon.

  20. Far more interested in hearing what idiotic scheme FUAC cooked up to appease his rich donors on the new federal tax law. It's a ridiculous joke that all of this continues to be negotiated in secret via "3 men in a room".
