  1. I will jump in on the guesses here. I had a similar arrow and blood a few years ago on a buck. We couldn't find the arrow that night but had decent blood for about 200 yards until we lost it. We marked last blood and backed out. The next morning we picked back up on the trail for another 50 yards on our hands and knees until it went completely dry. We grid searched for quite a while then called it off and went back to look for the arrow and found it 60 yards away from the hit sight covered in meat and blood just like yours. Best we could determine from shot, deer reaction and arrow is that it was a Brisket shot and luckily the deer will survive. I wish you the best of luck as this is the worst feeling as a hunter.
  2. Last year during the regular season I shot what I thought was a tall spike (ended up being a really small 6) that normally gets a pass but my daughter was with me and the memories that buck made will last a life time. Congratulations on the harvest and there is no better feeling that having your child with you for a successful hunt.
  3. I probably was a bit too excited to start the season. I took the afternoon off to finished the enclosed blind now I’m at a Birthday party. I plan on taking it easy the next 2 weekends I just spent 5 weekends in a row down at camp and need a break and my own bed at night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Back in way later than I would have liked but a lot went on this afternoon. Hopefully a dumb doe or buck comes my way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Just had a single doe come into 75 yards feeding then she walked way. Maybe she will make a loop and come back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Besides the duck hunters it’s been a quiet morning. My knee and back are really hurting today making for a not so comfortable it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. 35 degrees and calm winds. Tons of shooting from the duck hunters already. I forgot my card reader in the truck so tail camera pictures will have to wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Do what your comfortable with and don’t worry about what other people think. Just some food for thought I have been at camp for 4 weeks now with the number of people ranging from 6-16. No masks and no real social distancing. We all work 40+ hour a week jobs dealing with the restrictions of masks and social distancing. But it’s a breath of fresh air to be at camp and not deal with it. We are all comfortable with it and if someone wasn’t we would not give them a hard time about it. No one in camp has gotten sick. 12. I miss hunting pheasants. I use to do it a lot with a friend that I fell out of touch with. Our lives took us in separate directions. Then I got a lab that was great at pheasant hunting and I would go out alone but it wasn’t as much fun. She got old and I retired her a good few years ago before she hurt herself. Her drive to hunt was out of this world and she would be sore for a couple of days the last year I hunted her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I had to check the name twice on this. You have a wealth of knowledge which is well known but you normally toss a good one liner in those posts as well. Not this time though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Is there a shortage on reloading supplies? has their ever been a shortage on reloading supplies?
  15. As long as the deer doesn’t find a barrel and head over the falls.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Look around a water source as well. They will try to find water to lay down in to cool their stomach Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yes they have to use their regular season tag and from what I understood they can only take one deer during the youth weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. We only lasted an hour in the stand this morning. My daughter got cold right away even though I had her tucked into a sleeping bag. The youth hunter on our property shot a nice respectable 5 pointer. The kid is absolutely slaying it this year. Two deer with the bow. A buck and a doe now this 5 pointer with the gun on the youth weekend. There’s always next weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. How would it save been legal? Curious Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Set up with my daughter again. Chilly with bit of a breeze. Our youth hunter just shot once. Waiting in his report. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
