The roof went on this afternoon I had 6 people helping which was awesome! All thats left is the door and windows which will be done next weekend. It has been a fun project that I can’t wait to share time in the stand with my daughter! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Happy Birthday!

Now your jealousy is showing. I keep that in mind while I’m toasty warm on the opening day of the regular season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I stepped back to 30 yards with field tips and shot this group and called it quits for the night. I have some adjustments to make after talking with Tacs but not this year. Arrows are grouping nice but field tips and broadheads have a different impact spot on the target. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First shot at 21 yards with a broadhead for the first time this year. Made some adjustments to the sight and did this on the last 2 shots with the broadhead. Also at 21 yards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For what it's worth I do not know anyone that is doing a metal frame for their pole barn everyone is wood framed with pre-engineered wood trusses and the metal panel facade. Not sure how soon you want to put this up but if you can wait I suggest you do. Lumber is up 250 percent right now with no end in sight.

Happy Birthday Guys! -
I know. I really have no excuse or reason why. I know back then and honestly now I’m more of a meat hunter than a antler hunter but still I look back now and wish I had a better record of it. I guess I was just to young to realize that one day I would want to know what my first buck was. Perhaps if I get bored this hunting season I will comb through all the daily books out at my club and find out what my first buck was. At least then I’ll know a date and how many points. Corona Virus Thread

Say someone needed approximately 7 pieces of that wrongly purchased material that measure about 24"x24" you wouldn't happen to have a connection would ya.... Asking for a friend. -
Y'all are making me wish I had better pictures and records of my first Buck. It was long enough ago that I don't think it would have been a cell phone picture which means I probably don't have a picture of it at all. I also cant quite remember size and points. I know it was small but not sure if it was a spike or a 4 pointer. I have the heads of a few small bucks in my garage but I don't think any of them are my first buck.

Good lord that's a disturbing mental picture

I am not a huge NFL guy and don't watch many of the Bill's game but everything that I have seen/heard/read on the Coaching Staff and Allen just leads me to believe they are all just average. Now they may get the team into the Playoffs but I don't see much else after that.

I love the cover but agree with being worried I didn’t close the tailgate before leaving. Occasionally I have that sinking feeling so I put it in reverse to make sure it’s up. I’ve told many of people that their tailgate was down and would hope someone would do it for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Major hurdle this weekend. The blind is up in the air. I still have to do some cross bracing so it’s not as wobbly then the roof, make the doors and put in the plexiglass windows. It’s going to come right down to the wire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome to the forum! I'm on the other side of the state as you but there are a ton of hunters out your way and even a few on this forum.

I have only taken 2 deer with my 30/06 (2 for 2) and the meat damage was nothing more or less than what I would have expected from any other round with the shot that I took. 1st one was quartering towards I hit her in the front shoulder and took out a piece of heart. Front shoulder had some meat loss but nothing crazy. 2nd was quartering away and I messed the shot up but got lucky. The bullet entered behind the arm pit traveled up through the neck shattering several vertebrae. The shoulder was mostly fine with little meat loss but 3/4 of the neck meat was lost. Again something I would expect with any bullet being used. That's with a 150 grain bullet as well.

I did a 3 stud corner so I have more that enough meat to nail the 2 corners together but I'm still annoyed that I missed that detail. I'm sure the blind is way over built as I built it more like a house than a tree stand but i figured if I'm taking the time to do it I might as well do it right and not have to repair it for a ton of years.

I wish that was the case but I have a strict no alcohol until the power tools are put away policy. I simply made a bone head mistake and I wasn't even rushing through it.

I had to take a small break from building the blind to fix the camper before camping this weekend. Finished up the back panel tonight but I already screwed up I wanted to have an extra 3 1/2” of plywood on each side to help lock in the corners but completely forgot about it until a made the cuts and with lumber prices the way they are I just kept going instead of eating $70. I think they are curious creatures as well. We have noticed that when running chainsaws and tractors we will get deer coming into the area we are working almost just to check it out. Perhaps they don't associate loud noises as a threat. We have a logger working on our property right now and he says not a day goes by where he doesn't see a deer.
