  1. Almost ate them all before I remembered to take a picture of the finished product. Stuffed Hungarian wax peppers had some heat! Banana peppers were mild. Just used cream cheese and shredded cheddar.
  2. Good for you. That's a big chunk! Have fun making it your own
  3. Same, congrats on the chunk of land, in a good way I'm very jealous!
  4. Wish I could like this more then once, hell yeah.
  5. Ok I'm going to wait till August based on your advice for big n beasty. If it doesn't come out good its definitely your fault. I will take a free trail cam as an apology.
  6. It is a bit early but WTI planting dates say July 5th is the first planting date. This isn't in Orange county it's at my cabin in the foothills of ADK so it gets cold quick. Also if the plot doesn't grow it gives me time in September to do wheat or rye again. But yes I'm impatient, the weather lined up and I dont always have time to go up there every week so I went for it.
  7. I'm doing the same thing in a old clover plot. I sprayed it Sunday, I'll head up about 10 days from today. Might have to spray again because it rained not to long after I sprayed. I will definitely keep the 5 seeds to a paper plate in mind, that's a great tip thanks! I figure spreading the planting dates will be good and I'm trying Big N beasty for the first time. Would it be a problem to lightly add some red clover into these plots?
  8. Yeah I agree. I didn't expect that kind of germination. I'll do some thinning in a couple weeks when I head backup.
  9. Also Red Sox got the number #1 ranked guy at number #4.
  10. Joe Mack the High school catcher from the Buffalo area you guys were talking about went 31st to the Marlins tonight. Mets got great value with Kumar Rocker at #10. He was projected 1 or 2 overall at the beginner of the year.
  11. I've planted rye the last three years in this spot, nothing else has grown so after improving the soil the last few years, I gave it another try this year. Beets and Greens from WTI. Sprayed the rye and just put the seed on top July 4th. So far so good, just need to fill in some spots I missed.
  12. Cantaloupe is from the store as a disclaimer. I'm going to try ripening the peppers in a paper bag with an apple. It worked last year. Had to pull them before the deer finished off destroying my garden.
  13. Well lol hard to see but an hour after my fence fix she was back. I watched her make a hole with her freaking head! Crawled in and when I chased her off my wife caught a picture of her mid jump. She did a somersault snapped the fence post and pranced away. My wife has a video but I cant post it. I'm amazed at how she got in. She had no fear and was no more then 15 yards as I watched her go back in. There's always next year.
  14. Had a crappy day, chiropractor screwed up my back worse then it was, I can barely walk right now. Got home and had an excavator on my lawn, my neighbor had limited space and was having his septic replaced but give me a heads up man! When I went to tell him to just use my driveway I noticed the neighborhood deer had made entry into my garden and destroyed about 60% of everything I had planted. I'm fixing the fence but this is two years in a row were the fence didnt hold up, biggest difference is last year this happened in late September when I had harvested tons of veggies already. I will fix the fence but have no hope they don't make it back in. Next year will be a big investment into a heavy duty fence. And why the hell do the deer here love hot peppers?
  15. Asian eggplant is ready before the Italian has even started. One bell pepper and one sweet pepper so far. I have some bug issues going on so there is that.
  16. I'm no expert but when the bottom of the stalk before the first leaves is 2/3 dried it's time.
  17. Otto inspired wife approved. Thanks for all the advice Otto. Everything came out great, about 40 bulbs including what I gave away to neighbors and friends. Most bulbs were bigger then expected, I will triple what I planted last year. A couple banana, Hungarian wax and cucumbers as well.
  18. I was wrong about that fawn (hopefully he) is dodging all the predators so far. Lots of grouse up here my dogs jump them but this is the first picture I got.
  19. This heat then rain has been perfect for my garden. Cucumbers will get pulled Tuesday or Wednesday. Banana peppers sometime next week on a hot day.
  20. Really big double cheeseburger I've been craving.
  21. Chef, is that second picture shishito peppers?
  22. I'm embarrassed about the amount of weed but it works. Green and yellow squash should be ready in the next couple days although yellow squash has some blossom end rot. Asian eggplant is close. For me this is the tough part of the year, running soaked hoses and picking weeds isn't fun. My other garden looks much better hoping to pick potatoes real soon.
  23. Turkey drumsticks smoked with apple and cherry. Three hours at 250 man they were good. Skin was on point meat was a bit dry, my thermometer failed me. Already ordered a new one on Amazon. Brined and smoked these are pretty good for $7.
  24. Looks great! Crab legs aren't cheap these days. TF I live 5 hours away but one day I will visit the Yelling Goat and try those wings! Everytime you post them they look better and better.
  25. I went the year before covid during the nfl draft weekend. I'm not a vacation or tourist type guy, that said Nashville is one place I would go again in a second. I love country music and bbq so it was a good fit. Peg Leg BBQ was really good but honestly although good bbq it wasn't mind blowing. The main spots most people recommend are pumping out lots of customers. Such a clean fun city enjoy your time!
