    Hehehe.I also think of strange things while on watch.I don't know how ultra sonic they can hear but if you have a whistle for dogs take it along.When a deer comes out blow on it and see.It could be a scientific discovery through curiousity. I know they have one heck of an ear tho.they can hear a whisper from a pretty good distance.Seen that. One thing i wonder is how good their memory really is.If they seen me in my stand today will they remember in two weeks i was there?

    I just checked all mine in the quiver before i loaded everything in my truck and two were out of the shock collar.Junk.I would rather have the o-rings.Never had this problem.Only problem they had is they would crack.I am scared now.Hope i don't blow it if i see a big one and these things come out before they hit the deer.There goes the confidence.

    Its more of a joke.Besides;I can't hunt the standing corn.It isn't on my land i have permission to hunt.If i could, i would have by now.I love stalk hunting. This guy usually waits till like december to cut it.

    yes hunting is a great bond maker.Glad she is interested.Really wish i could be of help.I have a 12 yr old i tag along with me and and 18 yr old that goes too.I got my 7a last yr.So i couldn't get one this yr. There is a DMP swapping thread on here.You can try to get lucky in that thread.Maybe someone has a spare they could give ya.

    Rather hunt with a hangover than a cold with a fever.I have done both.I have been out in 2 ft of snow hile i was sick as all heck.Sipping on a dayquill bottle.Sucking on Leudins.Saw nothing and thought it was still a good time. Been so hung over couldn't see straight from the head ache.By the time the sun came up i was better but still not great.I felt better later that day than if i had slept.Gotta burn out the hang over.My gun never even go loaded on that one occasion.

    i just get a pot of boiling water and dump the turkey in it for a minuite to get rid of the feathers.They fall right of like nothing.Its how my wifes gramma used to do her chickens.

    I lost power for three seconds.Then up and runnning all night.I knew i wasted money on the candles and water.LOL.Not even any rain i wanted.(YET)...... Oswego county just got some wind.But i guess we still have a few more hours of it before its over.

    when i first started hunting i read a book that said when it is really windy the deer will move like it is night time because they feel safer cause the predators cant hear them as easy.I found after years that this was not true.They will move in the wind but are more cautious.Because they can't make out images and sounds like they could with just a slight steady wind.I found that a 7-10mph wind is the key.And if it is windy as heck they wont be moving unless they are in need to or succumed to the RUT.

    wind advisory over at 11 am tomorrow.I am going to be ready with my bow.When that wind dies down enough i am gone!!!Up at 6 to watch it.

    I carry three identical arrows with same BH's as of now.I am going to switch to an older qiver that holds 6 and throw in 3 more of the same arrows with feild points for squirll hunting while on watch.

    The eye of the storm? I have been thru alot of hurricanes in florida and sometimes it would do that.It would calm down for a few mins then go to gusting ten times worse.The eye is the coolest.Its calm then like a matter of minuites after the wall of wind comes back its blowing worse than the head of the storm.The tail is usually just as bad if not worse.

    I hate the bungee and strap on my older summit.Get the stirrups.They are so much better.But if not you could just tie a bungee on there.Get one from dollar store or wallmart.Cheap bungee they have in the trailer section.

    I don't know about your area but i saw some up in the Aderandacks last week that were about that size.I thought they were greys at first.Curious little critters.Had them coming withing 5 feet of me and keep running around the tree then come back and just stare and chirp at me.Had to throw sticks at one to shut him up.He still came back.Gotta take my boy up there with the pellet gun.
