Yes, the Treehouse is part of the Oyster Club restaurant. I think there's only one Oyster Club. S&P Oyster is a totally different kind of place, more like your typical seafood restaurant. Quite nice, though, with nice views.

Ah... handsome fella! Thanks!
-
Are you talking about S&P Oyster, on the river near the bridge?
-
Thought you were joking but looked and sure enough, Costello's. Not sure how long that's been there, don't remember it. Can't find a second Oyster Club...

Been there many times, almost bought a house there on the inner harbor. Agree that the Seaport Museum is a must. Best thing to see in Mystic, spend at least half a day. There's a great outdoor lobster place in Noank, just a few minutes away (called Abbot's I think). Stonington is worth a visit if you have a car and some time. Beautiful old harbor town (but torn apart by "politics" in recent years - I used to keep a sailboat there, crazy local scene). Oh, there's also an AMAZING restaurant in Mystic, around the corner toward Noank, called the Oyster Club. If I was in Mystic for only one night this is what i would do! Anyway, congrats and enjoy!

I need pics of this hound! (I love dogs.)

this would appear to be the answer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Studénka_train_crash

Neither Dick's nor F&S will ever see another penny of my hard earned money.

A couple of comments - When I trapped and released ratcoons, I released them more than 20 miles away. Didn't spray paint them, but I don't think any made it back here (would be a hard slog over some highly populated areas). That said, I don't bother any more - I just shoot the bastards. Skunks - I can tell ya this fer shur - if you shoot one, be prepared for The Smell. No idea about drowning them. Brings to mind farting in the tub... (not that I would ever do such a thing, I've just heard about it)....
-
Yet another reason to hate ratcoons. As if another was needed...

To the OP... if you happen to see Harry Reid....

So much for your Supreme Court nomination.

Duly noted - I will not put a tree stand on any of the Shagbark Hickory trees! (That said, my son plans to put "tree houses" in several trees on the property, or at least permanent platforms, so we may not need any stands. The deer are all over the place.) So... while I have the attention of so many kind and knowledgeable people... any idea what this one is?

Well we got bunches of 'em. Which may explain the healthy squirrel population. I'll have to ask my dad for my gramma's old squirrel recipes. As for the visitor, several of her larger friends strolled by right before, but I couldn't get the camera quick enough. This one seemed to kind of take a liking to me.
-
BTW, I'm surprised no one has noticed the visitor in the first pic.

Ha! I had a feeling there would be knowledge here on this. Thanks, guys. I was able to find the tree in my Audubon guide (I hadn't thought of it as a compound leaf and hadn't looked in that section). So, the browning of those leaves ... that's normal? As for the nuts - they must be tasty, I saw a healthy looking squirrel trying to haul of two in his mouth at once.
-
and how sick is it? and... should I be concerned that this could spread? Thanks!
-
I didn't know that, thanks. So if I haven't used my 2 bow/muzzle tags or my regular deer tag by ML season, they are all good for either sex? (Hopefully that won't happen, but it's good to know.)

Sardines are too good to waste. Peanut butter works (and I dislike it anyway)....

Ugh. Every time I read a story like this, I think of the Treadwell story. Sympathies to the family of Mr. Uptain.

LOL, yeah, I hear ya. I had a 1956 F-100 long ago (in the early 70's), a 1966 Chevy C-10 (in the late 70's) and a 1972 F-100 (late 70's). I do get it, a 1979 F-150 ain't "old" by some standards. Still, at this point , it's 40 years. And ... the windows roll up with a hand crank. Damnit. No "electronic" BS to break. And my 14 yo son (who I really bought it for, it will be his high school vehicle) thinks it's the coolest thing that ever rolled. Anyway, yeah. I bet I'm as old as you are, old man.
