Swamp_bucks

Nothing this morning except a bunch of squirrels. I had a huge buck on camera at another stand at noon. Went to see what the hunting pressure was like over there and swung pass another piece I hunt. Well I ran into the guys that manage the piece of stateland and they started talking about a buck I’ve been trying to kill. Told me how he’s been moving on the property and from where and times. Said today he was standing in the road at 9am and wouldn’t move. picture is from this afternoon at 1230 as I was leaving another spot currently have a big 6 bedded in front of one of my cameras.

So plan is to hunt the g2 buck unless I wake up to another picture of the buck from today. Only issue is I left my stand where I hunted this morning expecting to go back. So tomorrows morning hunt will be on the ground then going to run over and pull it if I haven’t punched my tag so I can get back for an afternoon sit.

Nothing yet sitting until noon

Just keep an eye out for dmp tags getting mailed. I didn’t get the drawing for my first choice of 7p and was denied. Got the mail today and they sent me one.

Should be dead not far from where you saw it last.

Stretched my legs today moved a camera, found great sign.

Can’t get moving this morning Covid still has me knocked down a bit. Going back to bed and hopefully doing a midday hunt.

Having a hard time figuring out where I go tomorrow. Edge of bedding, travel corridor, oak ridge wind works great for a bunch of spots I hunt.

Went out this past Saturday with my nephew. Had him set up in a ground blind. About 840 he had either a 4 or 6 come within 25 yrds and he couldn’t get swung to get the shot off. I was 200 yrds away and didn’t see anything. checked a camera on the same piece about 500yrds from where we sat and had the split g2 buck there at 740 working the scrape line. Photo is a screen shot of the buck. One step behind the big boys this year hopefully I run into one of them.

Who’s all going in the morning?

If they are chasing or locked down they don’t stay on the same pattern. Also just because you don’t have them on camera doesn’t mean they aren’t there. 2 weeks ago I had a big 6 walk just within range of my cell camera while I was on stand and he walked the other way never triggering the camera.

Car is all packed so if I’m feeling good tomorrow morning I’ll be in a tree stand

Feeling almost back to normal so I’ll be out the next 3 days

More I look at them the daylight photo looks like it is wider with longer browtines and the night photo looks like it has longer g2s.

I’m hoping to feel better by Tuesday or Wednesday morning so I can sneak out for a little bit.

I think it’s the same deer but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Had these 3 from last night and this morning

Feeling a little better but I got it from my youngest daughter. My wife and son both woke up with sore throats cough a slight fever so looks like we all have except for my oldest daughter.

Like I was hit by a bus. Just slept for 6hrs and I already feel like I can fall back asleep

Thanks I have a fever, chills, body aches, cough. Just going to try and sleep and rest as much as possible.

2 years never got it working with people who have it at the hospital and dealing with it at home 4 times but I have it now.

Nephew and I sat until 10. He had either a 4 or 6 pt come into 25yrds just couldn’t get swung to get a shot off. Brought him home and set him up with my old mobile set so he can get up off the ground a little bit. we went and checked a camera not far from where we were sitting and low and behold the split g2 buck was working the scrape at 740 this morning. Had a picture of him 2 nights ago 1.5 miles away. Big boys are putting the miles on.

Nephew and I will be out in the am. Planning on a ridge over a swamp but if my cams show a bunch of deer overnight we may shift to one of those spots.

Sat 4-dark had one large deer walk in around 5 it got down wind and trotted off. Could only make out the body through the thick crap.
