WNY Bowhunter's 2014 Shed Journal:
WNY Bowhunter replied to WNY Bowhunter's topic in Member Hunting Journals
Found #2 this afternoon... Wish I would have picked this chunker up last spring. It was laying out in a 30 acre section of beans that didn't get harvested in 2012 and I must have walked right by it last year... Unfortunately, half of the G3 was cut off while harvesting this past year but it still scored 60 2/8 with and additional 5 inches or so missing from the tip of the beam and the G3. -
I'm impatient. I had 9 sheds by this date last year!!!
-
I'll go with low 150's gross. He's at least 4.5 and more likely 5.5 years old. A heck of a WNY buck!!!

Yeah, I sent my original 2012 Black 60 that I bought in to be fixed this past summer and was sent a brand new 2013 as a replacement. I'll have to do the upgrade went I pull my cams for the season in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the tip!!! My three coverts have held up like champs in the brutal cold that we've had. They are FAR more reliable that the two Moultries that I had out last winter...

Checked cams today and had 8 different bucks, of which 7 still have both antlers firmly attached... I'm excited to see what this guy (aka Wannabe) will do this year as a three year old...he should be a good one!!! Still seems to be a little testosterone flowing...should have been a few sheds laying around. Only one missing an antlers as of yesterday morning...

I hope to get some pics of him this summer/fall before he gets all busted up...he's been like a ghost for the past 3 years now.

I currently have one yearling half rack on my cams...

Dang, can't get the video to open...

Still a bit early according to my trailcams, but, I hit up a quickie 5 minute spot today and picked up Shed #1 for the season. Sorry, not atl...

He dropped one side last year on 12/13. I found it on 12/15. My friend who owns the farm found the other hanging from an apple tree in early May. At 2.5 he carried them into February. Maybe I'll get lucky and stumble onto them in the upcoming weeks while checking my cams...

The sheds don't look flattened/palmated from a head-on view until you tilt them up . I got several other pics with the new set with his head down and his beams are flattened this year too... I only got him one camera one time last December but the pics are blurry,

I enjoy checking them after season to see what bucks survived the orange army...

Oops double post...

He certainly is hard on his antlers... End of Sept.: Last years sheds...not too much damage: 2011 @ 2.5: 2010 @ 1.5:

My favorite buck off all-time, "Little Freak Nasty" (LFN for short) finally stopped by my cams for a few pics. I just put them back out last week to try to inventory the remaining buck herd on the farm. I was very surprised to see this guy. True to form, his is all busted up again and his droptine is gone too. Oh well, can't wait to see him next year as a five year old!!!

No drive...the deer came walking out at 3:00 friday afternoon. He missed him the first shot...reloaded...followed his tracks to a gulley...krept over and the buck was standing at the bottom looking around!!! The second shot ended the 2 year chase!!!

Last one from my phone...no long arming here!!!

He dressed right at 180 but definately would have done 200+ in late October. Couple more pics from last year and one more from this year...

A friend of mine killed this bruiser yesterday in the town of Pulteney, Steuben County... Last year:

I'll post some pics when I get a chance. He really hasn't grown any larger frame-wise from 2009-2013.

He's been over 150 for the past 5 years (including this years rack)!!!
