  1. I'm calling BS on this...I don't believe an alligator could swallow an adult deer in one piece!!!
  2. He looks like a nice two year old. I had 10-12 other bucks on today's card pulls that were still fuzzed up...
  3. This should get the bowhunting juices flowing... Before: This morning:
  4. WNY Bowhunter

    unfound

I had no problem with bringing this guy's head home with me when I stumbled onto his remains back in April...
  5. None for me (except a couple of does). I want all of 'em to make it another year or two...
  6. So far on the only farm that I've scouted, I gotten pics of: 1 - 5 yr old buck 3 - 3 yr olds 7 - 2 yr olds 6 - yearlings I've seen at least 6-7 more 2 to 3 year olds on the other end of the farm that I don't pay much attention to...
  7. Been wanted a pic of this nice two year old 6-pt. There were 8 bucks in the field the other night and this one was the smallest of the group...
  8. Wannabe finally showed back up. Looks like he has a little bit of growth left in his tines and beams. This year at 3 yrs old... Last year at 2 yrs old... Yearling 8-pt in 2012...
  9. The average age of the bucks killed here is still on par with the rest of the state. Not much QDM being practiced in my area. Sad because there is so much potential to grow some impressive deer... Here's an example: I've seen or gotten trail cam pics of around 20 different bucks that are at least 2 years old on one of the 250 acre farms that I hunt. I could only imagine what next year would look like if half of them make it through season...
  10. I've lived and hunted here in Steuben my whole life. Private ground holds some great deer hunting opportunities, I've never deer hunted the stateland very much (Urbana SF) but it gets pounded during the first week. Hunting ground is getting super tough to come by...good luck in your efforts.
  11. Few recent pics... The two biggest bucks are acting camera shy. Here #1 most wanted (on the left), for some reason he didn't follow his buddies across the field... Good new is I have a stand right where they are coming out... I call this 3 year old buck Ripper (short for "ripped ear"), he has certainly developed since last year... Couple of good two year olds...
  12. Nice!!! Are you sure that they aren't Branchport deer?
  13. I agree...I'm somewhat disappointed. At the same time, he's a fully mature buck and almost a stinking ghost. He seems like he's nearly unkillable. He would be one heck of a trophy to put an arrow through.
  14. Thanks for the kind words but I can not take credit for these deer. They reside on a friends farm...they don't eat out of fancy food plots and the young ones don't get passed on to grow another year. Fortunately, they have a big area to hide in and some manage to live long enough to grow some nice headgear. If you were able to manage some big chunks of ground out here you could grow some really big deer...
  15. Few more pics from yesterday's card check... Another new two year old...
  16. Been wondering if this guy was still around...
  17. Sorry, didn't mean to sound spoiled...lol. The big ones are on the neighbors a half mile up the road.
  18. I'm really hoping the little guy finds a good hiding spot in November...
  19. Few more up and comers: This two year old looks like he could be a stud in a couple of years...
  20. I finally got lucky and had a whole group of bucks come strolling by my camera setup the other morning. It appears that they still have lots of growing to do yet over the next 3-4 weeks. This is a deer that I call Wannabe, he's a 3 year old and appears to be the dominate buck in the area... Last year... This deer is a 5 year old that I call Little Freak Nasty. He's been nearly impossible to get pics of for the past three years so I was very surprised to see him, especially daylight pics... Last year...
  21. Maybe...you never know when the buck of a lifetime is going to walk out in front of you!!! I can't complain too much...I added a 170" buck to my bone collection a few months ago. That probably used up all of my luck for a few seasons!!!
  22. Both are nice bucks for the area!!! Here are two monsters that were both killed last season within a couple miles of where the one I posted is from: My uncle's buck: A buddy of mines's buck:
  23. You should definately bring a trailcam, there are some nice deer in that area!!!
  24. I hunt near Bully Hill winery in Hammondsport but have never seen a deer like this over there. This guy is more near Branchport.
