Oh ok. Was gonna say fish ducks....yuck. Duck is def very good though. Would love to have a few in the freezer.

this isnt directly from my house but about 200 yards behind it. it was after the remnants of a souther tropical storm/hurricane came thru. The whole house was lit up orange so i walked down to the lake and took some pics.

if its ok im going to shoot a duck then send @The_Real_TCIII and @Otto a text with a pic and ask what the hell is it? and should i have shot it ? actually i will only shoot at what i can identify. Canada Geese and Mallards Im sure on. The rest i may have to claim it was self defense.

explain divers? the duck limit is already too confusing. Ducks are the small one right..... seriously no idea what a diver duck is. I would know a mallard, woody, merganser, redhead .....

would be real sure of being able to log there. Lots of crazy laws in the dacks. Have heard for northern zone that parts of ST lawrence county hold better deer numbers than a lot of northern zone but guess it would depend on the location. I would think if you build it they will come but might be a long project there as opppsed to starting in southern zone with existing AG, more deer numbers and easier winters. Good luck . again not being facetious here Grouse. But a couple of questions that just came to me...... So if you dont enjoy the hunting posts in a hunting forum then your here for the political section only? and do you enjoy the continued arguements with the same 3-4 people that disagree with you ? and do you think they will ever change their minds? Kinda seems counter productive or spinng your wheels for very little reward. Also if a person from Antifa were to join and didnt also enjoy any of the hunting posts but just blasted away their agenda on the political forum, do you think it would also be a good idea? or would you think that this stuff belongs at politcal discussion site instead? Also i guess if you dont enjoy hunting posts but enjoy politics so much and have so much insight and opinion (and you do obviously) then why on a hunting site that just happens to have a political section? Its like if your super power was invisibility but it only works if no one is looking at you. Kinda wasted isnt it when your trying to change the minds of 3-4 people that just argue with you. I mean even your couple of staunch defenders here must question why a guy that doesnt enjoy hunting posts is on a hunting site. Are you paid to do this by a political group? which i am doubting cause they wouldnt choose a hunting site. I guess i am missing where your enjoyment of this is. I guess i just dont see it. And for the record i am not for you leaving or anyone else. My issue is with the political section all together. If you leave the arguements and nastiness will just continue i am sure. But again i am thankful it has been fenced back in to the section at least, thanks to WNY.

Ok gotcha.you lost interest in the hunting posts on a hunting site...I can't believe you can't see how that doesnt make much sense. As I said before you and I agree politically and philosophically quite a bit. My issue is and has always been the arguing and bickering and general nastiness of these political threads doesn't belong on a hunting site. As it doesn't belong on all the rest of the hobby forums. And they Always go bad every damn time. And it's the fault of a very few and most don't want it here. I am very glad it has been put back into a sub forum as it was ruining this site. Like it or not it's a hunting forum first. Some great folks here and most I would be glad to pour beers with. I haven't read all the challenge stuff. Not sure what to tell you there as I think it's ridiculousness. So your saying you won't post in the political section if the people that don't like it won't ? So basically your saying get rid of it then cause no one is using it. Ok I'm all for that. Only reason I responded to this was because it was about getting rid of it and I think it would be a huge upgrade and relief to this site and 99% of it members. Good luck on your game or challenge or whatever it is. Carry on. Will leave you 7 folks to continue your argument.

this winter i am planning on building a wooden wall rack between the kitchen dinette to hang my cast iron pans. My Dad was big on them and NO one cleaned his pans but him. Wish i still had some of those. But i have a few lodge and they are fine. Guy at work has a eletric tank and he refurbishes cast iron. He buys them rusty at garage sales and fixes them up.

lol. you guys remind me of one of the fishing sites where they post a pic and say "what is this, never seen anything like this" when they are gutting a fish. I always stop looking and tell them to stop with the alien autopsy as they are freaking me out....lol

couple years ago i was sitting in our "swamp stand" deer hunting and two woodies are right there next to me on the edge of the pond. Was thinking then i needed to switch implements. looking at the regs - two mallards , one goose, 3 wood (no driver?), 2 redhead (like this), 2 black, 1 pintail, and a partridge in a pear tree. Gonna need a flow chart to get this right. Well in reality my expectation is i am lucky to get two ducks and a goose all season.

just bought 2 boxes of black cloud #3's 3". I figure people said 2s or 4s, so 3 is perfect?! lol. Plus it was available. So that gives me 2 boxes of 2's and 2 boxes of 3s. I figure that a good amount for any shooting i will do.

yeah thats what im afrain of. lol. The rabbit hole...... In Sept im pretty much fishing and deer prep. But the goose and duck season overlap for a couple of days so thinking thats a good time to go. i would go out there shooting prior to bow season. Thats still #1 for me, just would like something to do late gun season instead of seeing nothing day after day. def will do some scouting and get setup for a spot. Got a couple in mind already

it fluctuates a lot. Depends on how much rain. This year of course it is deeeep. Could prob launch the tracker in it. But def will start with waders on the edges.

A few years ago we had a ton. The last two years have a lot less. Saw one all deer season and only a few cam pics. Neighbor has been trapping them and it has seemed to help. Have gone yote hunting a couple of times but never cared much for it. Will shoot them as targets of opportunity in deer season. Shot one with xbow a couple years ago and my buddy shot one with rifle. I only seem to call them in during turkey season. Could do some.trapping there as there are a lot of beavers and fishers but also not into that. Plus winter I work a whole lot and to trudge out there for a trapline has the same appeal to me as ice fishing....none. lol

Strike that. I have a Stevens not a Mossberg. Well I have a Mossberg but that's my turkey gun. Also have 2 boxes of steel 2s. Just enough to embarrass myself and get a good laugh.
